Verified Reviews identify testimonials that come from real customers who have completed a purchase or verified action. This badge increases trust and authenticity for reviews displayed on your website.
When a Review Becomes Verified
A review is marked Verified when WiserReview can confirm that the reviewer is a real customer through one of the following methods.
1. Review Submitted via Purchase-Based Automation
When automation is turned ON, WiserReview sends a review request to your customer after a purchase. If the customer submits their review through the email link or clicks through to the review form and submits feedback, the review is automatically verified.
Example Flow
- Customer places an order in your store.
- WiserReview automation sends a review request (email/WhatsApp).
- Customer clicks the review link and submits feedback.
- The review is automatically tagged as Verified.
2. Review Submitted from Product Page with Order Email Match
Even when automation is OFF, a review can still be auto-verified. If a customer visits your product page, clicks the Write Review button, and enters the same email address they used for their order, WiserReview checks your order history for the past 60 days. If a matching order is found, the review is automatically verified.
How It Works
- Customer visits the product review page and clicks Write Review.
- Customer enters the email address they used when placing their order.
- WiserReview looks up your order history for the past 60 days.
- If a matching order is found for that email and product, the review is automatically verified.
3. Verification via Email Confirmation
If a customer submits a review but their email is not found in your order history within the 60-day window, WiserReview sends a verification email to that email address. If the customer clicks the confirmation link in the email, the review is auto-verified.
This applies to reviews submitted from the product page where no matching order was found. The store owner needs to enable the verification email template in WiserReview settings for this to work.
4. Reviews from Google and Facebook
Reviews collected from Google and Facebook are automatically treated as Verified Reviews.
Platforms:
- Google Reviews
- Facebook Page Reviews
5. Reviews Submitted with Order Verification
If a review form collects information such as:
- Order ID
- Purchase Email
- Transaction Reference
and the system confirms the purchase details, the review can be marked Verified.
When a Review is NOT Verified
A review will not receive the Verified badge if the system cannot confirm the reviewer’s identity or purchase.
1. Public Review Form Submissions
If a visitor submits a review through a public testimonial form without any purchase or email verification, the review will remain Unverified.
Example:
- A website testimonial form where anyone can submit feedback.
2. Reviews Submitted via QR Code
Reviews submitted through a QR Code review link are not automatically verified.
How It Works
- A business generates a QR Code for collecting reviews.
- Customers scan the QR Code.
- They open the review form and submit feedback.
Since the QR Code link can be accessed by any user who scans it, WiserReview cannot confirm a purchase or customer identity. Therefore, these reviews remain Unverified.
3. Reviews Imported via Webhook
Reviews imported through a Webhook are not marked as Verified.
Reason:
- Webhook reviews come from external systems, and WiserReview cannot confirm the customer’s identity or purchase.
Therefore, Webhook imported reviews remain Unverified by default.
