Supported events

Once Klaviyo is connected, WiserReview pushes the events below into Klaviyo. Each one appears as its own metric, so you trigger a separate flow for each.

Event name Description
Review request Triggered to initiate a review request to a customer.
Follow up Triggered if a customer hasn’t responded to a review request.
Manual campaign Triggered for review requests sent through manual campaigns.
Send incentive code Triggered to send a code following a review submission.
Review submitted Triggered when a review is successfully submitted by a customer.
Review published Triggered when a submitted review is published on the site.
Review reply events Triggered when there is interaction with a published review.

In Klaviyo’s metric list these appear prefixed with WiserReview, for example WiserReview – Review request.

The steps below walk through the Review request event end to end. The same steps apply to every other event, only the metric you select changes.

Use Dynamic Variables for Personalization

  • Here, use the below dynamic value in the email:
Event Variables Meaning Where to Use with Email
{{ event.customer_name }} Full name of the customer Text block
{{ event.customer_email }} Email address of the customer Text block
{{ event.store_review_url }} URL to submit a store review Button block

  • Activate Your Flow: Finally, set your flow to ‘Live’ to start automating your email or SMS outreach.

Connect Klaviyo with Automation

Once integration is done, you will see the connection under automation.

Go to Automation > Select the Klaviyo.

If you have selected 14 days in automation, you will receive the request after 14 days in Klaviyo.

If you want to send the review request in Klaviyo instantly once order data is received in automation, then select the zero in automation.

Set up the follow-up reminder flow

The follow-up goes to customers who received a review request but did not submit a review.

  • Go to Automation and enable the follow-up (reminder) step.
  • In the email template option, select Klaviyo as the integration.
  • Set the waiting period. If a customer has not submitted a review within that period, WiserReview sends the Follow up event to Klaviyo.
  • In Klaviyo, create a new flow, choose Metric as the trigger, and select WiserReview – Follow up.
  • Add an email block and design it the same way as the review request email. The event carries the same customer and line item data, so the same HTML block and dynamic variables work here.
  • Set the flow to Live.

Set up the media follow-up flow

The media follow-up goes to customers who submitted a review but did not upload an image or video. Use it to ask them to add media to the review they already left.

  • Go to Automation and turn on the media follow-up.
  • In the email template option, select Klaviyo as the integration.
  • In Klaviyo, create a new flow, choose Metric as the trigger, and select WiserReview – Media follow up.
  • Design the email using the media upload link from the event data. Click Preview & test to see every variable the event sends.
  • Set the flow to Live.

Set up the incentive flow

  • Go to Settings and enable the incentive setting.
  • Under templates, select Klaviyo as the integration.
  • WiserReview now sends the Send incentive code event to Klaviyo every time a customer submits a review and qualifies for a reward.
  • In Klaviyo, create a new flow, choose Metric as the trigger, and select WiserReview – Send incentive code.
  • Design the reward email. The event payload carries the incentive code along with the customer name and email, so you have everything the reward email needs.
  • Set the flow to Live.

Create a separate flow for each event

Klaviyo triggers one flow per metric, so every event you want to act on needs its own flow. Repeat the same steps for each one:

  1. Enable that event on the WiserReview side (Automation or Settings) and select Klaviyo as the integration in the template option.
  2. Create a new flow in Klaviyo.
  3. Choose Metric as the trigger and select the WiserReview event.
  4. Add an email block and use Preview & test to check the exact variables that event sends.
  5. Set the flow to Live.
