You can move every CusRev review into WiserReview without retyping anything. Export one CSV from WordPress, upload it to WiserReview, and check the result.
That history is worth protecting. Products with at least five reviews are 270% more likely to be bought than products with none, per our online review statistics.
The import itself is quick. This guide also covers what tends to go wrong around it: duplicate review emails, reviews showing twice, and Google Shopping stars dropping off.
Here’s the whole move, in the order you’ll do it:
- Prepare CusRev: pause reminders, export, check the file
- Set up WiserReview: account, plugin, product sync
- Import your reviews and spot-check them
- Go live: widgets on, CusRev off, rich snippets on
- Keep it running: review requests and Google Shopping
Why WooCommerce stores move from CusRev
Switching from CusRev to WiserReview makes sense when a store wants more review layouts, automated SMS and WhatsApp requests, or one account for several stores.
- More layouts from 18+ review widgets, like review sections, Wall of Love, and Q&A
- Automated SMS and WhatsApp requests (CusRev’s WhatsApp reminders are manual)
- Several stores managed from one login, with reviews synced across them
- Support for Shopify, BigCommerce, Wix, and Squarespace if you ever replatform

CusRev is a solid free plugin, so if it does everything you need, there’s no rush to switch. For a side-by-side look, see WiserReview vs CusRev.
What moves from CusRev to WiserReview?
A CusRev export carries review text, star ratings, reviewer details, dates, product links, order IDs, and media URLs, and WiserReview imports all of them.
| CusRev data | Moves over? | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Review title and text | Yes | Imported word for word |
| Star rating | Yes | 1 to 5 stars, as given |
| Reviewer name and email | Yes | Email helps match each review to its order |
| Review date | Yes | Keep CusRev’s date format |
| Product ID and SKU | Yes | Products must still exist in your store |
| Order ID | Yes | Keep this column (see Step 3) |
| Photos and videos | Yes | WiserReview downloads and hosts the files |

Start Free →What you need before you start
A CusRev to WiserReview migration needs no developer. Have these ready before Step 1:
- Admin access to your WordPress dashboard
- CusRev still active, so you can export
- Past orders still in WooCommerce (WiserReview matches order IDs against them)
- Google Sheets or Excel to check the file
- A fresh site backup, just in case
- Your Google Merchant Center login, if you show stars in Shopping
Plan the import for your first 60 days on WiserReview. Imports after that window still show on your store, but they’re left out of the Google Shopping feed.
Phase 1: Prepare CusRev for the move
Preparing CusRev means stopping its review emails, exporting every review to a CSV file, and checking that file before WiserReview sees it.
Step 1: Pause CusRev review reminders
Do this first. WiserReview creates a WooCommerce review request campaign as soon as you connect your store, so leaving CusRev on means two emails per order.
In WordPress, go to Reviews > Settings > Review Reminder. Clear the Enable Automatic Reminders checkbox and save.
Then open Reviews > Reminders and note any orders still in the queue. Leave those out if you later send WiserReview requests to past customers.
Canceling CusRev Pro won’t stop the emails. Per CusRev’s pricing FAQ, an expired license drops to the free plan and keeps sending invitations with basic templates.
Step 2: Export your reviews from CusRev
CusRev has a built-in export, so you don’t need a separate plugin for this part.
- Log in to your WordPress admin.
- Go to Reviews > Import / Export.
- Open the Export Reviews tab and click Export.
- Click Download to save the CSV file.

The file holds every review plus every reply you’ve written. If you use CusRev’s Q&A, those export separately from the Export Q&A tab.
Save an untouched copy of this file before you edit anything. It’s your backup if a later step goes wrong.
Step 3: Check the CSV before you upload it
Open a copy of the file in Google Sheets or Excel and run through this list. A quick check here saves a messy re-import later.
- Keep the order_id column. WiserReview checks it against your orders for Google Shopping and the Verified Buyer badge.
- Keep the media column. It holds the photo and video URLs WiserReview downloads.
- Compare a few product_id values with your products. A store rebuild can change IDs, and product_sku helps you match them.
- Remove rows that have a value in the parent column. Those are your replies, so they shouldn’t come in as standalone reviews.
- Decide on rows with a product_id of -1. Those are general shop reviews, not product reviews.
- Leave the date column in CusRev’s MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM format. Some spreadsheet apps reformat dates when you save.
- Save as a comma-separated CSV. Some Excel language settings use semicolons, which breaks the columns.
Phase 2: Set up WiserReview on WooCommerce
Setting up WiserReview on WooCommerce takes three parts: a WiserReview account, the WiserReview plugin connected with an API key, and a product sync.
Step 4: Create your WiserReview account
Go to app.wiserreview.com/signup and sign up with your email or Google account. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

Finish the short onboarding to create the workspace your WooCommerce store will connect to.
Step 5: Install the WiserReview plugin and connect your store
The WiserReview WooCommerce review plugin links your store to your account. Install it alongside CusRev for now.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New and search for WiserReview.
- Install WiserReview Product Reviews for WooCommerce, then click Activate.

- In your WiserReview dashboard, open Settings and copy the API key from Workspace settings.

- Back in WordPress, open Wiser Review in the sidebar and paste the key under Connect & Enable.
- Turn on Enable WiserReview on your store and click Save Changes.

The plugin checks the key right away. Once it shows as verified, the widget and feature settings become active.
Step 6: Sync your WooCommerce products
On the same plugin page, click Sync Products and wait for the success message. This sends your product names, images, URLs, SKUs, and GTINs to WiserReview.

Run it before the import so your catalog is already in WiserReview when the reviews arrive. If a sync stalls, click Reset Status and try again.
Phase 3: Import your CusRev reviews
Importing CusRev reviews into WiserReview takes a few clicks, because the WiserReview import tool has a dedicated CusRev option.
Step 7: Import the CusRev CSV
- In your WiserReview dashboard, go to Manage Reviews and click Import.

- In the list of platforms, find CusRev and click Integration.

- Check that CusRev is the selected review source, name the import, and leave encoding on UTF-8.
- Upload your checked CSV and click Upload & continue.
- When the field mapping step appears, make sure the order ID column is mapped.

WiserReview processes the file in the background and emails you when it’s done. Files with more than 1,000 reviews take longer, so give them time.

Step 8: Spot-check the imported reviews
Refresh Manage Reviews once the import email arrives. Then compare it against your CusRev file before anything goes live.
- Total count matches the rows you uploaded
- Your top five products show the same count and average rating
- Photos and videos load on a few media reviews
- Dates show the original review dates, not today’s
- A few low-star reviews are there and published
Fix problems now, while CusRev is still showing reviews on your store. The troubleshooting section below covers the usual causes.

Import ratings, photos, and dates from CusRev, then show them in WiserReview widgets. Try it free for 7 days.
Phase 4: Go live on your store
Going live means switching on WiserReview widgets, turning off CusRev and the native WooCommerce reviews tab, and keeping a single source of review schema.
Step 9: Turn on WiserReview widgets
In WordPress, open Wiser Review and scroll to Review Widgets. Switch on what you want to show, then click Save Changes.

- Product Review Section: full reviews below the product summary
- Star Rating: stars under product titles and on category pages
- Review Nudges: a short review below the add-to-cart button
To match your store’s look, open Widgets in the WiserReview dashboard. You can change colors, layout, and card style, and preview each change live.

On the Pro + AI plan, the same editor has an AI review summary toggle. Your imported CusRev history gives it reviews to work with right away.
Step 10: Switch off CusRev and the native reviews tab
CusRev stored every review in the built-in WooCommerce product reviews system. Leave that on and shoppers see two review sections on each product page.
- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins and deactivate Customer Reviews for WooCommerce.
- Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products, scroll to Reviews, untick Enable product reviews, and save.
- Clear your cache plugin, server cache, and CDN, then open a product page in a private window.
Deactivating doesn’t delete anything. Your CusRev reviews stay in the WordPress database, so keep the plugin installed but inactive for a few weeks.
Step 11: Turn on review rich snippets
CusRev added its own review schema to product pages. With CusRev off, switch on WiserReview’s so Google keeps reading your ratings.
In the plugin, find Product Review Rich Snippet under More Features and turn it on. It adds JSON-LD review markup to every product that has reviews.

Then run one product URL through Google’s Rich Results Test (there’s a link beside the toggle) and confirm a single rating shows.
Phase 5: Keep new reviews and Google stars coming
After the switch, WiserReview takes over the two background jobs CusRev used to run: asking customers for reviews and sending ratings to Google Shopping.
Step 12: Replace CusRev reminders with WiserReview review requests
Connecting the plugin already created a WooCommerce campaign. In your dashboard, go to Collect Reviews > Automate and click Configure on it.

Set the delay first. Requests go out a set number of days after an order is marked Completed, so pick a gap that covers delivery.

Next, pick a single-product or multi-product email template and send yourself a test. You can add SMS or WhatsApp through a connected tool too.
Turn on a reminder for customers who don’t reply. Then save and make sure the campaign is On.

Matching your old CusRev delay and reminder timing keeps the customer experience the same through the switch.
For older orders, the plugin’s Collect Reviews from Past Customers tool bulk-sends requests for a date range. Skip the period CusRev already covered, since each request counts toward your monthly plan.
Every setting is explained in How to Set Up Automated Review Requests (WooCommerce).
Step 13: Move Google Shopping ratings to the WiserReview feed
If Google Merchant Center pulls your stars from CusRev’s XML product reviews feed, point it at WiserReview’s feed instead.
- In the WiserReview plugin, scroll to Google Shopping Review Feed and click Generate Review Feed XML.
- Copy the feed URL from your WiserReview dashboard under Integrations > Google Shopping.
- In Merchant Center, replace the CusRev feed URL with the WiserReview one in your product reviews feed.

Check before you swap. Google expects a full feed on every fetch and deletes previously sent reviews that the new feed leaves out.
WiserReview’s feed includes imported reviews only when they carry a verifiable order ID and arrived inside your 60-day window. See which reviews are syndicated to Google for the full rules.
How to replace other CusRev features in WiserReview
Most CusRev extras have a direct WiserReview equivalent, so each one takes a few minutes to rebuild after the migration.
| If you used this in CusRev | Set it up here in WiserReview |
|---|---|
| Coupons for reviews | Collect Reviews > Automate > Incentives (one discount, or higher rewards for photos and videos) |
| Photo and video reviews | Media follow-up in your review campaign, with a minimum star rating |
| Questions and answers | Question & Answer widget (Pro plan) |
| Replies to reviews | Manage Reviews > three-dot menu > Reply |
| Trust badges and review sliders | Carousel, Wall of Love, or floating review widgets |
| WhatsApp reminders | Automated WhatsApp requests through WATI or Interakt |
| Google Seller Ratings (not supported in CusRev) | Google Customer Reviews opt-in, set up in the WooCommerce plugin |
If you ran CusRev coupons, set up Incentives before your first WiserReview request goes out, so new reviewers get the same reward.

Common CusRev migration problems and how to fix them
Most CusRev import problems come from the CSV file or from caching, and each one has a quick fix.

The upload fails or columns look shifted
The file was probably saved with semicolons instead of commas, which some Excel language settings do by default. Re-save it as comma-separated CSV in UTF-8 and upload again.
Reviews landed on the wrong product, or none at all
The product IDs in the file don’t match your current store. That’s common after a rebuild or a staging-to-live move.
Delete the mismatched reviews, run Sync Products, correct the product_id values (product_sku helps), and import that batch again.
Dates show today instead of the original date
A spreadsheet app reformatted the date column when you saved. Start again from your untouched export and check the date column before saving.
Photos are missing
WiserReview fetches each image from the URL in the media column. If your site is password-protected, in maintenance mode, or blocking hotlinks, those requests fail.
Open a few media URLs in a private browser window. If they don’t load there, fix access, then delete and re-import the affected reviews.
Reviews appear twice on product pages
The native WooCommerce reviews tab is still on, or your theme hard-codes its own reviews section. Recheck Step 10, then clear every cache layer.
WiserReview widgets don’t show up
Clear your cache first. If you use WP Rocket, exclude WiserReview scripts from WP Rocket caching. Widgets also stay hidden on products with no reviews in WiserReview.
Custom themes and page builders sometimes skip the default positions. Copy the shortcode beside each widget in the plugin and paste it where you want it.

Wrap up
A CusRev migration comes down to order. Stop CusRev’s emails first, import and check your reviews next, and switch off the old display only once WiserReview shows everything correctly.
Two settings are easy to miss: the WooCommerce reviews checkbox and the Merchant Center feed URL. Check both again a week after the switch.
From there, WiserReview runs your requests, widgets, and Google ratings in one place, and your CusRev history keeps selling on every product page.
