How to Add Testimonials to Podia in 5 Minutes

I’ve added testimonials to four Podia sites over the last year.

Two used Podia’s built-in Testimonials block for a native look, while two used Custom HTML embeds with third-party widgets for automated video testimonial collection.

Podia is built for creators, so the best setup depends on whether you sell courses, memberships, webinars, or digital downloads, and whether you want static quotes or automatically updated testimonials.

In 2026, there are four main ways to add testimonials to Podia: native testimonial blocks, third-party widgets, screenshot testimonials, and manual text quotes.

I’ll cover all four methods.

First: Podia has a built-in Testimonials section

Podia has a built-in Testimonials section

This is the most useful fact to know up front, and one that most Podia creators don’t realize until they go hunting for it.

Podia’s page editor includes a native Testimonials section block in the section library.

Drag it onto any page (sales page, about page, course landing page), replace the placeholder quotes with your real customer testimonials, and you’re done. Photo, name, role, and quote fields are built in.

If you’ve already gathered testimonials by email or DM and just want to display them, Method 1 below (the native block) is the simplest path.

If you want to collect automated video testimonials from past students, Method 2 (Custom HTML embed + third-party widget) is the right call.

4 ways to add testimonials to Podia (quick comparison)

The cheat sheet I wish I’d had on day one.

Method Effort Plan needed Cost Best for
Podia native Testimonials section block Low Any plan Included Course creators with curated testimonials
Custom HTML / Embed + third-party widget (WiserReview, Senja, Testimonial.to) Low Mover or higher Free plan, $9/mo paid Video testimonials, automated student collection
Image block with screenshot testimonials Medium Any plan Free Email or DM screenshots, social proof from Instagram
Text block with quotes Medium Any plan Free 3-5 hand-picked testimonials on a single page

If you just want my pick: for most course creators, use Podia’s native Testimonials section block (Method 1) for sales pages and the about page, then layer a third-party widget like Senja or WiserReview (Method 2) on a dedicated Wall of Love page to showcase video testimonials and tweet screenshots automatically.

Quick note: Podia plan tiers

Podia plan tiers

Three Podia realities worth knowing before installing anything:

  • Free plan: Podia’s free tier supports the native Testimonials section block (Method 1) but doesn’t include the Custom HTML/Embed block for Methods 2 and beyond. Limited to the native section library.
  • Mover ($39/mo): unlocks Custom HTML/Embed blocks, advanced page sections, and removes Podia branding. All four methods below work on Mover and above.
  • Shaker ($89/mo) and Earthquaker ($199/mo): same content tools as Mover, with added affiliate programs, advanced email features, and community tools. All four methods work identically.

If you’re on the Free plan, you can only use Methods 1, 3, and 4. For Method 2 (the most powerful path with automated collection), you’ll need at least Mover.

Why add testimonials to Podia at all?

Why add testimonials to Podia at all

Quick gut check before you spend time. Podia powers many small- to mid-sized creator businesses, course creators, coaches, and consultants, where buyers compare carefully before enrolling in a membership or buying a digital product.

Testimonial data show that 88% of people trust online testimonials as much as personal recommendations, and pages with testimonials can convert up to 34% better than pages without them.

Specific wins I’ve seen on Podia sites:

  • Higher course enrollment rates. A solopreneur creator added 4 video testimonials from past students directly below the curriculum section using Method 2. Enrollment climbed on the sales page with no other change.
  • Lower hesitation on membership signups. Testimonials near the recurring pricing section reduce fear of long-term commitment. Especially powerful on Mover and Shaker plans where memberships are part of the revenue mix.
  • Better webinar registration rates. Webinars depend heavily on trust. Testimonials from past attendees placed near the registration form increase signups for paid or limited-seat webinars.
  • Free social proof for new creators. If you’re new to Podia and don’t have a large audience yet, even 3-5 strong testimonials make a noticeable difference in conversion.

Worth the hour. Let’s get into it.

Method 1: Podia’s native Testimonials section block (the easiest path)

Podia's native Testimonials section block (the easiest path)

If you already have testimonials in hand (from email, DMs, course reviews, or post-purchase surveys) and just want to display them with clean native styling, the native Testimonials section is the simplest path.

Works on every Podia plan, including Free, no embed code required.

What you get:

  • Built-in section with photo, name, role, and quote fields.
  • Native styling that automatically matches your Podia site theme.
  • Drag-and-drop reordering, easy to add/remove testimonials.
  • Mobile-responsive by default.

Steps:

  1. Log in to your Podia dashboard.
  2. Open the page where you want testimonials (sales page, about page, course landing page, or homepage).
  3. Click the Edit page.
  4. Hover over where you want the testimonials section, then click Add section.
  5. From the section library, search for or scroll to Testimonials. Pick a layout (single, multiple, or carousel).
  6. Click the section to edit. Replace the placeholder quotes, names, roles, and photos with your real customer testimonials.
  7. Reorder testimonials by dragging them within the section if needed.
  8. Adjust section background color, padding, and alignment using Podia’s design controls.
  9. Click Save, then Publish or Update to push live.

Honest take: the native block is fast, free, and looks great. The trade-off is manual entry. You update testimonials by editing the page directly, no automation. For automated collection or video testimonials, layer Method 2 on top.

Good for: course creators, coaches, and consultants with 3-10 curated testimonials ready to display.

This is what I use on most Podia client sites where the creator wants video testimonials, automated collection from past students, multi-platform aggregation (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, email), or a Wall of Love layout.

You generate a widget code in a testimonial tool, then drop it into Podia’s Custom HTML / Embed block.

The benefit over Method 1: automation. The widget tool collects testimonials via email request, video upload, or imports from your existing testimonials on Twitter, LinkedIn, and other platforms. Podia handles the display.

Popular options in 2026, especially among course creators:

  • WiserReview. Free plan up to 10 testimonials, $9/month paid. Photo and video testimonials, multi-platform aggregation, and AI moderation.
  • Senja. Very popular with course creators. Strong on video testimonials and Wall of Love layouts. Free tier available.
  • Testimonial.to. Strong on video testimonials with one-click recording links you can send to past students.
  • Shapo. Free plan with 10 testimonials. 20+ import sources, schema markup for rich snippets.
  • Famewall. Testimonial-focused with a simple collection flow.

For this walkthrough, I’ll use WiserReview, which is what I built. Free plan covers up to 10 testimonials and unlimited site embeds. Paid plans start at $9 per month or $6.75 per month if you go yearly.

Adding testimonial widgets to your website or online store is fast and requires no code.

First, sign up for a WiserReview account.

Next, follow the steps below to show a clean, high-converting testimonial on your site.

Start by importing your existing testimonial via a direct integration or CSV import.

If you do not have any testimonials yet, you can start collecting them using WiserReview automations. We also support video testimonials.

Review integration

After that, go to the Widgets section. You will see multiple review and testimonial widgets built to build trust and help visitors decide.

For this example, we chose the carousel video. You can customize it to match your brand colors and layout. Once everything looks right, click Install.

Carousel video

You will then see the JavaScript, iframe, and URL options for embedding the widget on your site.

Review widget code

This is only the display side. WiserReview also helps you manage testimonials with built-in AI and collect them via email, SMS, WhatsApp, form links, QR codes, and more.

You can explore the platform further or book a demo to learn how to collect more testimonials and show them where they matter most, based on our four years of experience working with over 1,100 brands.

Embedding the testimonial widget in Podia

Once you have your embed code, here’s how to drop it into Podia.

  1. Log in to your Podia dashboard.
  2. Open the page where you want the widget to appear.
  3. Click the Edit page.
  4. Hover over where you want the widget section, then click Add section.
  5. From the section library, search for Custom HTML or Embed. Select it.
  6. Paste your WiserReview embed code into the code field.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Preview the page to verify the widget renders correctly on desktop and mobile.
  9. Click Publish or Update to push live.

For a Wall of Love-style dedicated testimonials page, create a new page in Podia called “Testimonials” or “Student Stories,” add the Custom HTML block, and paste a larger wall-style widget.

Link to this page from your main navigation or your course sales pages.

Make sure the embed URL starts withhttps://, since Podia blocks HTTP iframes as mixed content on published sites.

Method 3: Image block with screenshot testimonials

Image block with screenshot testimonials

For social proof from places like Instagram DMs, Twitter mentions, or email replies, screenshots work well on Podia.

Take a clean screenshot of the original message (including the sender’s name and platform branding) and place it via an Image block in your Podia page.

Steps:

  1. Take a screenshot of the testimonial in its original context (Instagram DM, Twitter reply, email message, or LinkedIn message).
  2. Crop the image to focus on the testimonial text, while revealing the sender’s name and platform branding.
  3. In Podia, edit the target page and click Add section > Image.
  4. Upload your screenshot.
  5. Adjust image size and alignment using Podia’s design controls.
  6. Add alt text for accessibility (describe the testimonial content for screen readers).
  7. Save and publish.

Honest take: screenshots look verifiably authentic since the platform branding is visible. The trade-off is that screenshots aren’t readable by Google or screen readers, so you lose SEO benefits. Image alt text helps with accessibility, but not with rich snippets.

Good for: course creators with strong social media followings who get testimonials in their DMs or Twitter mentions.

Method 4: Manual text block with quotes

Manual text block with quotes

Sometimes you only need three glowing quotes on your About page or a specific sales page.

No widget, no native block, no monthly cost. Add a Text block, paste the customer quote, and style it as a testimonial with the customer’s name and role below.

  1. In Podia, edit the target page and click Add section > Text.
  2. Type or paste the testimonial quote.
  3. Format the customer’s name, role, or company below the quote using bold or smaller text.
  4. Style the section using Podia’s typography and color controls.
  5. Save and publish.
  • Why it works: Fully native Podia styling, fast page load times, full design control, and searchable text accessible to screen readers.
  • Where it breaks: Hand-typed quotes can feel less verified than widget-pulled testimonials with source links. Updating testimonials means editing each page directly.

Use this manual method only for 3 to 5 evergreen testimonials per page. Above that, Methods 1, 2, or 3 win on every axis.

Best practices that actually move the needle

Best practices that actually move the needle

Five things I’ve tested across Podia creator sites that consistently improve engagement and conversion.

  1. Place testimonials near the buy or enroll button. A testimonial directly above the Add-to-Cart, Enroll Now, or Join Membership button works harder than five testimonials scattered across the sales page. Use Podia’s section structure to anchor testimonials at decision points.
  2. Mix written and video testimonials. Video testimonials convert better for high-ticket courses and memberships. Even one 30-second video alongside written quotes signals authenticity. Method 2: third-party widgets handle video natively; Method 1: native block supports written only.
  3. Lead with outcome-focused testimonials. Course buyers want results. Surface testimonials that mention specific outcomes (“increased my email list by 5x in 3 months,” “closed my first client within 30 days”) over generic praise. Use tags in WiserReview’s AI moderation to filter for outcome-focused testimonials per page.
  4. Use a Wall of Love page for high-intent visitors. Create a dedicated /testimonials or /student-stories page using Method 2 with a wall-style widget. Link to it from your sales pages and email sequences. High-intent visitors love deep-diving social proof.
  5. Test on mobile. Podia sites get heavy mobile traffic, especially from social media. Use Podia’s mobile preview, then test on a real phone. Some widgets need tuning at the 375px breakpoint to avoid horizontal scroll.

Mistakes I see Podia creators make over and over

Three patterns worth avoiding:

Pasting embed code into a Text block instead of a Custom HTML / Embed block. Podia’s Text block strips iframe and script tags as a security measure. The widget saves but renders as plain text on the live page. Always use the dedicated Custom HTML / Embed section from the section library for raw embed snippets. Note this requires Mover plan or higher.

Hiding testimonials at the bottom of the sales page. Many creators put testimonials in the footer or near the very end of long sales pages. By the time visitors scroll that far, they’ve already decided. Move at least one testimonial above the first call-to-action, then add more throughout the page near decision points.

Using the same generic testimonials on every page. Sales pages benefit from outcome-focused testimonials about that specific course or product. About pages benefit from testimonials about you as a creator. Membership pages benefit from testimonials about community and long-term value. Use Method 1’s separate native blocks per page, or filter Method 2’s widget tags per page.

Which method should you actually pick?

Short version:

  • Pick Podia’s native Testimonials section block if you have 3-10 curated testimonials ready and want fully native styling with zero cost. Works on every Podia plan, including the Free plan.
  • Pick the Custom HTML / Embed block + third-party widget (like WiserReview) if you want video testimonials, automated collection from past students, multi-platform import (Twitter, LinkedIn, email), a Wall of Love layout, or a portable embed that survives a future platform change. Required: Mover plan or higher. The free widget plan covers 10 testimonials; paid plans are $9/month or $6.75/month annually.
  • Pick the Image block with screenshots if your strongest testimonials come from Instagram DMs, Twitter mentions, or email messages, and you want to show them in their original visual context.
  • Pick the manual text block method if you have fewer than five testimonials and want to feature specific ones on a single page.

For most Podia creators I work with, the right answer combines two methods: Podia’s native Testimonials section block (Method 1) on sales pages and the about page + a third-party widget (Method 2) on a dedicated Wall of Love page with video testimonials and automated collection from past students. Together, they cover the whole site without overlap.

If you want to try the third-party widget path, the WiserReview free plan covers 10 testimonials and works with Podia Mover, Shaker, and Earthquaker plans. No credit card to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about this topic

Yes. Podia has a built-in Testimonials section block in the page editor. Open any page, click Add section, and search for Testimonials in the section library. Drag the layout you want (single, multiple, or carousel), replace placeholder quotes with your real testimonials, and save. Photo, name, role, and quote fields are built in. Works on every Podia plan including Free.
Podia's Free plan supports the native Testimonials section block (Method 1) plus screenshot Image blocks and manual Text blocks. The Custom HTML/Embed block needed for third-party widgets (Method 2) is unlocked on Mover ($39/mo) and above. Shaker ($89/mo) and Earthquaker ($199/mo) include the same content tools as Mover with added affiliate, email, and community features.
Yes, on Mover plan or higher. Use Method 2 with a third-party widget like Senja, WiserReview, or Testimonial.to. These let past students record short video testimonials via a one-click link, then display them on your Podia site via the Custom HTML/Embed block. The native Testimonials section (Method 1) supports written quotes with photos only, no video.
Place at least one testimonial above the first Enroll Now, Buy, or Join Membership button, then add more throughout the sales page near pricing sections and the final CTA. Avoid putting testimonials only at the bottom, since visitors decide before scrolling that far. For membership pages, place testimonials directly next to the recurring pricing section to reduce hesitation about long-term commitment.
Yes. Either create separate native Testimonials blocks per page (Method 1) and fill each with page-specific quotes, or use a third-party widget (Method 2) with tag filtering. WiserReview's AI moderation lets you tag testimonials by course, product, or outcome, then surface only the matching ones on each page. Generic testimonials underperform compared to outcome-focused ones tied to the specific offer on that page.
Most likely you pasted the embed code into a Text block instead of a Custom HTML/Embed block. Podia's Text block strips iframe and script tags as a security measure, so the widget saves but renders as plain text. Delete the Text block, add a new section, and select Custom HTML or Embed from the section library. This requires Mover plan or higher. Free plan users can't use Custom HTML/Embed, so use Methods 1, 3, or 4 instead.
