Photo Review

A photo review attaches the customer’s own picture to the rating, turning words into visible evidence.

What a photo review is

A photo review is a customer review with the customer’s own picture or video attached: the product as it actually arrived, fits, and lives, next to the words and the stars.

Why photo reviews matter

Brand photography shows the ideal; customer photos show the truth, and shoppers know the difference. Real-life images answer the doubts galleries can’t, actual color, actual fit, actual size in an actual room, and pages that show them give hesitant buyers the evidence text alone doesn’t carry.

How stores get more photo reviews

  • Ask directly: the review request invites a photo, with easy upload
  • Time it after delivery, when the product is in frame
  • Show photo reviews prominently so the norm is visible
  • Get reuse permission at upload, one checkbox

Frequently asked questions

Do photo reviews need moderation?

Yes, lightly: screen for privacy, irrelevant images, and abuse, not for flattering angles. An imperfect real photo builds more trust than a suspiciously perfect grid.

What about video reviews?

The same logic, stronger: motion answers fit, sound, and use questions photos can’t. Upload friction is the limiter, so accept both and let customers choose their effort level.
