What is TrustHero? (And what it’s become in 2026)

TrustHero started as a review widget tool. You’d connect it to your Google or Facebook page, and it would pull reviews onto your website in a little carousel. Simple, cheap, useful for small sites.

But TrustHero has since pivoted hard. The current product (as of 2026) is primarily an AI Local SEO Agent built for local businesses that want to rank higher on Google Maps. It auto-replies to Google reviews, optimizes your Google Business Profile, publishes weekly Google Posts, and tracks your top local competitors.

The pricing reflects the pivot. Plans now run from $25/month (annual) to $50/month (monthly), plus $29/month per extra location. The old $19/month widget plan is gone. And TrustHero also sells physical NFC and QR code stands, cards, and plates for in-person review collection.

Is TrustHero worth it? My honest take

For the right business, yes. For most stores, probably not.

TrustHero’s current focus is entirely on local businesses that rely on Google Maps: restaurants, repair shops, dental clinics, salons, auto shops. If customers find you by searching “near me” on Google Maps and your Google Business Profile is the main thing driving bookings, TrustHero’s AI agent makes a real case for itself. Automated review replies, fresh Google Posts every week, and competitor tracking in one dashboard is genuinely useful for that use case.

But here’s where it falls short for most people landing on this page.

If you run an ecommerce store, TrustHero isn’t really built for you anymore. It doesn’t help you collect product reviews, display review widgets on product pages, run post-purchase email/SMS sequences, or show photo and video reviews from customers. Those features were part of the old product and they’ve largely been replaced by the local SEO focus.

If you need review widget displays (carousels, badge widgets, review walls on your website), the current TrustHero is much thinner on this than it used to be.

And if you’re asking “is TrustHero legit?”, yes, it’s a real company with a real product. The scam-checker sites give it middling scores because the domain is relatively young and the brand has gone through identity changes, but there’s nothing shady going on. Where TrustHero genuinely struggles

Review display options are limited

The widget side of TrustHero is basic. You get a few display styles, but nothing close to the carousels, floating popups, badge stacks, and full wall-of-love layouts you get from dedicated review display tools. If your goal is showing off reviews everywhere on your site, TrustHero’s current version will feel limiting fast.

No product review collection for ecommerce

This is the big one. Pricing has jumped significantly

How to migrate from TrustHero

Switching away from TrustHero is straightforward. Here’s how to do it without losing your reviews or momentum.

Step 1: Export your existing reviews

Before you cancel anything, export whatever reviews TrustHero has collected. Go to your TrustHero dashboard and look for a CSV export option. If you’ve been syncing from Google or Facebook, those reviews live on those platforms anyway and can be re-synced through your new tool.

Step 2: Set up your new tool first

Don’t cancel TrustHero until your new platform is live and collecting. Sign up, connect your review sources, install the widget on your site, and confirm everything is working. Running both in parallel for a week or two is fine.
