Additionally, I bought the knife because I was intrigued by the shape and just the promise of its quality and versatility seemed hard to argue with. However, after having witnessed the voice of reason, I ordered it, got it, some 40 odd hours later, and was smacked upside the head by how insane it is. The knife is so sturdy, it is almost brutal its weight and the thickness of the blade behind the handle literally scream no nonsense, and I knew right away that if you wanted to cut down a tree with this thing, you could probably do it. The first buchering session with it converted me altogether: the Munetoshi goes through pig skin like butter, doesn't even shrug when cutting through cartilage, and is astoundingly nimble around bones. A true winner! It holds its edge well, can be made scary sharp, and is areal plesure to use. I understand that it was designed more or less by accident. .. Well, personally, I'm waiting for more of those accidents to happen.
