7,000 products. Reviews on autopilot.
How a sports nutrition store with one of the UK's largest supplement catalogs automated review collection across every SKU.

Protein Pick and Mix sells protein bars, shakes, supplements, snacks, and drinks from hundreds of brands. Founded in 2013 and based in Kent, England, the store lets customers mix and match trial sizes across a catalog of over 7,000 products. That business model creates a specific review problem: thousands of individual SKUs, each needing its own customer feedback to help shoppers pick the right flavour, texture, or brand.
When your catalog has 7,000+ products, manual review management is not an option.
Protein bars and supplements are personal. One person's favourite whey flavour is another's worst purchase. Customers need honest feedback on taste, texture, mixability, and value before committing. But with 7,000+ SKUs from hundreds of brands, collecting and displaying reviews manually across the catalog was never going to work.
The store needed automated review collection that could cover the full catalog, a review form that captured what supplement buyers actually care about, and a platform that worked with their headless architecture.
“Automation that actually scales to 7,000 products, not just 70.”
Most review platforms work fine for a store with a few hundred products. Protein Pick and Mix needed one that could handle automated requests, reminders, and moderation across thousands of SKUs without constant manual oversight.
Why Protein Pick and Mix chose WiserReview
High-volume automation
Automated review request emails and follow-up reminders across the full 7,000+ product catalog. No manual sends, no missed products.
Custom review forms
Rating categories for taste, texture, value, and mixability. Photo uploads. The kind of detail supplement shoppers actually want before buying.
Headless-compatible
Works with their custom frontend through API integration. No widget breakage, no layout hacks.
Google and Facebook reviews in one place
Google My Business reviews (4.8 stars, 47 reviews) and Facebook page reviews (4.7 stars, 42 ratings) pull into the same dashboard. All reviews from all sources, managed together.
Setting up reviews on a headless store
Protein Pick and Mix wasn't migrating from another review tool. They needed a platform that could bolt onto their custom frontend and start collecting from scratch across 7,000+ products.
No migration needed. The focus was getting automation running at scale from day one.
Review widgets on a headless storefront
WiserReview widgets are integrated into Protein Pick and Mix's custom frontend so reviews feel like part of the site, not a third-party add-on.
Star rating sits right under the product title, and the full review section appears below with filters, sorting, and verified badges.
Star rating and review count right under the product title on every product page.
- Star rating with review count on product pages
- Product review section with rating breakdown and filters
- Review wall page with all reviews across the store
- Photo reviews from customers
- Floating trust badge across all pages
- Sorting by most recent, highest rated, and media-only
Automated review collection at scale
Every order triggers an automated review flow across the full 7,000+ product catalog.
With thousands of orders flowing through the store, automation is the only way to keep reviews coming in across the full catalog. No one on the team touches the process.
Google, Facebook, and on-site reviews together
Protein Pick and Mix connects their Google My Business page (4.8 stars, 47 reviews) and Facebook page (4.7 stars, 42 ratings, 13,781 likes) directly to WiserReview. Reviews from Google and Facebook display alongside on-site product reviews, so shoppers see all the social proof in one place without visiting separate platforms.
Google reviews, Facebook reviews, and on-site product reviews all managed from a single WiserReview dashboard.
A real Protein Pick and Mix review
I'm not usually a big fan of whey protein because it often has a weird aftertaste and I usually only ever have clear whey but I had seen per4m everywhere so decided to give it a go as I wanted to have protein porridge more moving into the winter months. I got the carrot cake flavour and it's soooo good! It's not hideously sweet but sweet enough to satisfy that craving. It mixed so smoothly into my porridge without making it too thick. I also added sultanas and it was just spot on. Would 100% buy again and I look forward to trying the other flavours. Bonus points for it being gluten free!
A verified review from a real customer. The kind of detailed taste and texture feedback that helps other shoppers pick the right flavour.
