Why Strikingly site owners add a Google review widget

  • Strikingly's testimonials are manual text, not synced from Google.
  • Star schema lifts your search snippet CTR.
  • Trust elements near contact forms convert better.
  • Auto-sync keeps reviews fresh without manual edits.

How WiserReview embeds on Strikingly

WiserReview goes into a Strikingly HTML section, the section type you'd use for any custom HTML. The widget script loads asynchronously after Strikingly's first paint, so the page renders first and the widget fills in. It works the same way on single-page Strikingly sites and on multi-page Pro builds.

Collect Google reviews

Gather reviews through email requests, QR codes, WhatsApp, or a direct link. Text, photo, and video are all supported. Customers can submit a review without leaving your Strikingly site.

Automate Google reviews

Trigger a review request after a Simple Store purchase, a Strikingly contact form submission, or an appointment booking. Set it once and the rest is hands-off.

Manage Google reviews

Choose which collected reviews to feature using content moderation (spam, profanity, policy violations) or curated selections. Curated widgets show a Testimonials badge so visitors can tell they're hand-picked.

Display Google reviews

Pick from carousels, walls, badges, popups, or a single-line rating snippet. The widget reads your Strikingly template's font stack on its own. You only override settings when you want to.

Who needs a Google review widget?

Best fit for Strikingly site owners whose buyers want proof before they commit. Personal brands, freelancers, and small product launches tend to see the biggest impact.

Personal brands and portfolios

Single-page Strikingly sites work well when reviews sit between the about section and the contact form. The single-line rating in the hero area also pairs well with portfolio templates.

Freelancers and consultants

Reviews between the services list and the contact section lift booking inquiries. The carousel widget fits the Strikingly section flow without overwhelming the page.

Simple Store sellers

Strikingly's Simple Store gets a conversion lift when a review wall sits above the product grid. The HTML section accepts the WiserReview embed on Pro and VIP plans.

Event landing pages

Single-page event sites benefit from reviews near the registration form. A floating badge in the corner keeps trust visible as visitors scroll the agenda or speakers list.

Coaches and small course launches

If you're running a small launch through Strikingly before moving to a course platform, reviews above the signup form work as proof. Pair with a single-line rating in the hero for instant credibility.

Anyone using Strikingly as their main site

The floating badge widget gives you site-wide social proof through Custom Code injection. Works on Pro and VIP plans.

Strikingly install methods and placement tips

Last verified on Strikingly Pro in May 2026. Every tip below has been tested on real Strikingly single-page and multi-page sites.

1

Method 1. HTML section (Pro plan or higher)

This is the recommended setup. The HTML section type is available on Pro and VIP plans inside the Strikingly editor.

How

In the site editor, click Add New Section in the spot where you want the widget. Choose the HTML section type. Paste the WiserReview embed code into the HTML field. Click outside the editor to save, then publish. The section inherits the site's width and color theme on its own.

2

Method 2. Custom Code site-wide injection

Use this when you want a floating badge or sticky review widget on every Strikingly page without editing each section.

How

Open Settings, then Advanced Settings, then Custom Code. Paste the WiserReview script tag into the head or body field. Save and the widget appears site-wide. Requires Pro plan or higher.

3

Free and Limited plan limitations

The HTML section is not available on Strikingly's Free or Limited plans. There is no clean workaround for these plans.

How

To embed any custom HTML on Strikingly, you'll need at least the Pro plan. If you're trying to stay on a lower tier, the only fallback is a screenshot of your Google reviews in an image section, which doesn't auto-update and doesn't get schema markup. Upgrading to Pro is the practical path.

4

Single-page vs multi-page Strikingly sites

Strikingly is best known for single-page sites, but Pro and VIP plans support multi-page builds. The widget placement strategy differs slightly between them.

How

On a single-page site, the review section sits between two of your core sections, usually between Services and Contact. On multi-page sites, the homepage gets a review wall and each service or product page gets a tag-filtered widget. The floating badge through Custom Code works equally well on both.

5

Place the widget where buyers actually decide

On Strikingly single-page sites, the placement right above the contact form or the registration block consistently outperforms other positions.

How

For service pages, the spot between the price and the Get Started or Contact button works particularly well. For Simple Store pages, the review wall above the product grid is the strongest placement. The very bottom of a Strikingly single-page site is a weak spot; engagement drops off there.

6

Match the widget to your Strikingly template

Inside an HTML section, the widget picks up your Strikingly template's font stack on its own. You only need to override anything if you want a specific look.

How

If you're on a VIP plan with Custom CSS access, target the .wiser_review_wall class to tweak spacing or colors without going into the widget settings. For Pro plan users, the WiserReview design panel handles font weight, padding, and background tone.

7

Test in Strikingly Preview before publishing

Strikingly's Preview button shows the widget the same way visitors will see it, including responsive breakpoints.

How

Click Preview at the top right of the editor before you publish. A common gotcha: the HTML section shows a placeholder in the editor, not the live widget. The widget only renders when you preview or publish. If it's still empty in Preview, an analytics-blocker extension is probably intercepting the WiserReview script.

Drop the WiserReview HTML section into any Strikingly page in a few minutes. No plugin or developer required.

Frequently
asked questions

No. The HTML section type is only available on Pro and VIP plans. The Free and Limited plans don't allow custom HTML embeds. To use the WiserReview widget, you'll need to upgrade to Pro at minimum. We last verified this on Strikingly Pro in May 2026.
Yes. Single-page Strikingly sites built on Pro and VIP plans support the HTML section. Drop it in between two of your core sections, usually between Services and Contact, where it has the most impact on conversion.
Strikingly's testimonials are manual text blocks that you type in yourself. They don't pull from your Google Business Profile and don't output schema markup. WiserReview connects directly to your Google reviews, syncs new ones on its own, and outputs the schema that lets star ratings appear in your Google search snippets.
No. The WiserReview script loads asynchronously after Strikingly's first paint, so it doesn't block the page from rendering. It adds about 18KB to total page weight in our measurements.
Yes. On VIP multi-page Strikingly sites, create separate widgets in your WiserReview dashboard with different tag filters, then paste the matching embed code into each page's HTML section. As an example: the services page shows service-tagged reviews, while the product page shows product-tagged ones.
Use Custom Code injection. Open Settings, then Advanced Settings, then Custom Code. Paste the WiserReview script tag in the head or body field. The floating badge then appears on every page. Requires Pro plan or higher.
Yes. Add the HTML section to a page that includes the Simple Store, either above or below the product grid. The widget doesn't go inside the product card itself, but a section adjacent to the grid works well for store-wide social proof.
Yes. Every widget style is responsive out of the box. On Strikingly's mobile-stacked layouts, the wall widget stacks vertically and the carousel becomes a swipe scroll. Worth testing in Strikingly Preview's mobile mode before you publish.
