I really have spent a small fortune on lock picks over the years. I've also been sent review and pre-release samples from unknown Chinese brands as well as the larger, well known companies. I've used KSEC picks, Law Lock Tools, Multipick, Peterson, Sparrows and more, as well as my own custom made jobbies for specific tasks. Whilst I'm definitely not the most skilled picker on the planet, I have experience using these tools in locksport as well as professionally. I've had tendonitis from picking. Buy these. With the shine, I was expecting form and "wow" factor over function, but nope. Honestly, if you're looking for an up-market set, <span style="background-color: {{HILIGHT_BG_CLR}}; color: {{HILIGHT_TXT_CLR}}" class="wn_rvw_hglght">these are the way to go.</span> The finish is just incredible and there's no question around what you're feeling from inside the lock. Handle size and feedback is awesome - I was really worried about the polished handles causing slipping but nope. I'm not sure if there's an oleophobic coating on these but prints don't seem to collect anywhere near as much as I expected. Even on locks which are historically a challenge and have me enthusiastically picking the warding, these allow me to discriminate between pin and warding as well as place the tip perfectly. The feedback allows you to visualise where you are on the pin, which has allowed me to use shorter hooks because I can place the pick for the best angle. Honestly, I've never had precision like it and I didn't even consider it possible. In addition, I've tried these on some nasty keyways and not felt the need for a thinner gauge. I think it's due to the polished finish being so smooth it allows you to position properly without the need for extra margin. As for raking, I'm not a very good rakist. I usually find raking embarrassing as other people make it look so much easier than I ever find it to be. I'll be giving these more of a go, though as I found the finish made it a lot easier. Downsides: The tensioners are fine, but not up to the stunning finish of the rest of the set.
