Ask AI for Reviews adds a small “Ask AI” button next to your star rating on product pages. When a shopper clicks it, a chat window opens where they can ask anything about the product and they get an instant answer written from your store’s real customer reviews.
It turns the reviews you already have into a 24/7 assistant that answers buyer questions at the exact moment they are deciding to buy.
How it works (In simple terms)
1. A shopper opens a product page and sees the “Ask AI” button beside the star rating.
2. They click it and type a question, for example: “Do these scrubs have enough pockets?” or “Does this mug keep coffee hot for a few hours?”
3. Ask AI to look through that product’s real reviews, find the most relevant ones, and write a short, helpful answer based only on what real customers have said.
4. The answer appears in the chat, along with the related reviews it used — so the shopper can see the proof behind the answer.
The chat also shows an AI-generated summary of the most talked-about topics for the product so shoppers can quickly scan common themes.
Important: answers are built only from your genuine customer reviews. Ask AI does not invent information or quote anything outside your reviews.

Requirements
Ask AI is a Pro AI plan feature. If your store is not on the Pro AI plan, the settings screen shows an upgrade notice and sample (“dummy”) data so you can preview the experience first.
Your store needs existing product reviews for Ask AI to answer from. The more reviews a product has, the better the answers.
Setting it up (In the dashboard)
Ask AI is configured inside the Star Rating widget, because the
button is shown right next to the star rating.
Step 1 — Open the widget

Go to your Star Rating widget and open the “Ask AI” tab.
Step 2 — Make sure you are on the Pro AI plan

If you are not, you will see a “Pro AI” notice with a “Buy now” button. Upgrade to unlock the feature.
Step 3 — Get your reviews ready (one-time)

Click “Get my reviews ready.” This prepares your existing reviews so Ask AI can answer from them. This is a one-time setup and usually takes about 12 hours to finish. You do not need to do
anything while it runs.

Step 4 — Turn on the button and customize it
Once your reviews are ready, switch on “Enable Ask AI button” and set the button text (for example, “Ask AI for reviews”).
Step 5 — Save
Save the widget. Make sure the Star Rating widget is placed on your product pages so the button has a place to appear.
Where it appears on your live store
The “Ask AI” button is added right beside the star rating on your product pages.
It is product-specific: on each product page, Ask AI answers using that product’s reviews only.
Clicking the button opens the “AI Review Assistant” chat window, which shows the product’s review-topic summary and a box to type
questions.
What the shopper sees in the chat
- A friendly prompt: “Ask me anything about the reviews!”
- A summary of the most common topics in the product’s reviews.
- A text box to ask their own question.
- The AI answer, labeled “Based on real customer reviews.”
- The related reviews were used to build that answer.
The “ask AI chats” reports (For Owners)
Every question shoppers ask is saved so you can learn from it.
Find it in the dashboard side menu under AI > “Ask AI chats.”
The report shows:
Summary stats: total questions asked, number of conversations, number of products asked about, and average questions per chat.
A list of conversations: each shows the product, the date, and the question. Open “View chat” to read the full question-and-answer thread for that shopper session.
Use this report to spot missing product information, common buyer concerns, and ideas for new content — directly from what your real shoppers are asking.
