How to export reviews from Okendo (step by step)

Okendo’s export function lives under Settings, not the Reviews tab. The process takes under 2 minutes and sends the CSV to your account email. Here’s exactly how to do it.

Step 1: Log in to your Okendo dashboard

Sign in to your Okendo account as the account owner or an admin.

The export function is only accessible to account owners and admin-level users.

Step 2: Go to Settings, then Import/Export

import export okendo reviews

In the left sidebar, click Settings. Then click Import/Export.

This is where all Okendo data exports are managed.

You’ll see a Data table listing different data types including Reviews, Q&A, and other content.

Step 3: Click the Export icon next to Reviews

Under the Data table, find the Reviews row.

Click the Export icon on the right side of that row.

A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm the export settings.

Step 4: Select your date range and request the export

reqest export

In the pop-up, select All time to export every review, or choose a specific date filter if you only want a subset.

Click Request Export. Okendo will process the export in the background.

Step 5: Download the CSV from your email

Okendo sends the CSV file to the account owner’s email address; it does not download directly to your browser.

Open the email from Okendo and download the attached CSV file to your computer.

Open the file in Google Sheets or Excel to verify the data looks complete before importing it anywhere. Save in UTF-8 format to avoid character errors during import.

What does the Okendo export CSV contain?

The Okendo CSV export includes all the core fields you need for a complete migration. Here’s what’s in it:

  • Review ID: Okendo’s internal identifier
  • Product ID / SKU: The product the review is linked to
  • Product name: The name of the reviewed product
  • Reviewer name: The name submitted by the customer
  • Reviewer email: The customer’s email address
  • Review title: The headline of the review (if provided)
  • Review body: The full written review text
  • Star rating: The numerical rating (1-5)
  • Review date: When the review was submitted
  • Verified purchaser: Whether the reviewer was confirmed as a buyer
  • Review status: Published, pending, or rejected
  • Media URLs: Links to any photos or videos attached to the review
  • Custom attributes: Any custom questions or attribute ratings you configured in Okendo (e.g. fit, quality, size)

Important: Before importing into any other platform, save the CSV in UTF-8 encoding. This prevents character errors with special characters and non-Latin text. In Google Sheets, go to File then Download then CSV and it exports as UTF-8 by default.

Why businesses are leaving Okendo

Okendo is a capable review platform but it’s built exclusively for Shopify and Shopify Plus. If your business runs on WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, or Squarespace, Okendo simply isn’t designed for you.

The most common reasons brands export their Okendo reviews and move on:

  • Shopify lock-in: Okendo works only on Shopify and Shopify Plus. Brands migrating to other platforms lose access entirely
  • Pricing tiers: Okendo’s plans start at $19/month (Essential), $119/month (Growth), $299/month (Power), and $499/month (Advanced), with custom enterprise pricing above that. Core features like Q&A, attribute ratings, and SMS requests are locked behind higher tiers
  • Feature access: Many features that competitors include at lower prices, like video reviews, loyalty integrations, and review syndication. These require Okendo’s upper-tier plans
  • Platform migration: Brands moving from Shopify to WooCommerce or BigCommerce need a review platform that follows them
