GatherUp vs Reviews.io: ask first, or review first? (2026)

GatherUp sends a feedback or NPS question first, then works Google reviews and listings per location, from $99 a month with a demo above one location. Reviews.io invites a verified buyer to review the product, per domain, from $29. What each asks first decides it, plus the $19 product-page option.

GatherUp vs Reviews.io comparison cover with the GatherUp homepage and the Reviews.io homepage

GatherUp and Reviews.io both send review requests by email and SMS, both monitor the results, and both show up when a business searches for review software. Past that, they diverge fast.

GatherUp is a reputation platform for local businesses and the agencies that serve them: feedback and NPS first, Google and 100+ review sites second, priced per location.

Reviews.io is a product and company review platform for online brands: a verified buyer gets an invite after purchase, the review lands on a product page, priced per domain.

The question that sorts them is what you ask first. A feedback question about the visit, or a review of the product that shipped.

I run WiserReview, a product-review tool for online stores, so I compete with the Reviews.io side of this and I’ll say so where it matters.

Every price below was read off the live pricing pages in September 2026.

What each one is for

GatherUp manages a local business’s reputation, one location at a time. Reviews.io collects an online brand’s reviews, one domain at a time. What each one asks first is the tell.

GatherUp asks how it went

GatherUp’s homepage reads “Reputation is Revenue. Grow Both.” and, further down, “The Only Reputation Platform Built for Agencies.”

The flow starts with a feedback or NPS question about the visit, sent by email or SMS, then moves to review requests for Google and 100+ sites, monitoring, AI-drafted replies, and a Listings Hub for directory data.

Its own copy calls out review gating as a compliance risk, so the feedback step is a survey, not a filter that keeps unhappy customers off Google.

Reviews.io asks for the review

Reviews.io invites your customers after a purchase, collects product and company reviews with photos and video, and shows them in on-site widgets, rich snippets, Google Shopping, and Google Seller Ratings.

The buyer is an online brand, the integrations are Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Klaviyo, and Gorgias, and the price is a slider you read yourself, from $29 per domain.

The first-question test

Look at the message your tool sends. If it opens with “how was your visit?” and routes from the answer, you’re GatherUp’s buyer.

If it opens with “how’s the product you ordered?” and the review lands on a product page, you’re shopping in Reviews.io’s aisle, or in WiserReview’s.

GatherUp overview: feedback, reviews, and listings per location

GatherUp homepage in September 2026 with the Reputation is Revenue. Grow Both. headline

GatherUp is a reputation management platform for local businesses and the agencies that run their marketing. Its homepage says 1,000+ agencies and businesses trust it and names healthcare, legal, home services, real estate, finance, self-storage, insurance, restaurants, and construction.

The 2026 pitch is Build, Manage, Defend: listings and review collection, monitoring and replies, then Review Defense that flags suspicious reviews and disputes them.

What it does well: the local loop. Feedback and NPS on every plan, requests by email and SMS with credits per location, 100+ sites monitored, AI-crafted replies, social sharing, and a white-label version for agencies.

Where it stops: the product page. There are no product-level reviews, no photo or video review widgets tied to a SKU, no rich snippets, no Google Shopping ratings, and no Google Seller Ratings.

Pricing is per location, one location is self-serve, and everything above that goes through a demo or a quote.

Ideal fit: a clinic, firm, or service company with one or several locations, or an agency managing a roster of them, that wants feedback and Google reviews handled per location.

Reviews.io overview: reviews for a brand’s own pages

Reviews.io homepage in August 2026 with its Collect reviews, Get found by AI, Sell more headline

Reviews.io is a product and company review platform with UGC galleries and surveys, part of the clearer.io family alongside its Influence loyalty product. Its pricing page claims 10,000+ customers.

It holds a 4.7 from 756 reviews on the Shopify listing, shows a 4.8 G2 badge on its homepage, and integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Shopware, Klaviyo, Gorgias, and TikTok Shop.

What it does well: the ecommerce review stack. Review Booster mails past customers, Flows time invites by product or country, video-first campaigns collect video, and Google Seller Ratings, rich snippets, and Google Shopping ratings all ship from the Start-Up plan.

Where it stops: the local loop. NPS sits on Plus at $499, surveys on Grow at $299, and Google Business Profile reviews and the Reputation Manager also start on Grow. There’s no listings sync and no white-label mode.

Ideal fit: an ecommerce or online-first brand that wants verified reviews on its own pages plus a Google ads and Shopping layer, at a price it can read on a slider.

WiserReview overview: the product-page side at store prices

WiserReview homepage, a product review tool that works across Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and Ecwid

WiserReview is my product, so weigh this section accordingly. It does one job: verified product reviews on an online store, collected against real orders and shown where the checkout happens.

What it does: collects reviews by email, SMS, WhatsApp, and QR code, with each send counting as one review request, then displays them in 18 widget types with photo and video on every plan.

Google Shopping product stars, rich snippets, and Google seller ratings sync from the $9 Starter plan, and AI moderation and AI replies run on every plan. Pro + AI adds review summaries, smart topics, and product review insights.

WiserReview review management dashboard

It runs on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow, Magento, PrestaShop, and headless builds. Starter is $9 for 100 review requests a month, Pro is $19 for 1,000, and Pro + AI starts at $31, each per workspace.

The spec-by-spec version lives on WiserReview vs. GatherUp.

Where it stops: the local loop. No NPS or feedback surveys, no listings sync, no white-label mode, and no Google Business Profile campaigns. A local business or an agency should read GatherUp’s section, not this one.

Ideal fit: online stores on any platform that want the product-review job done at a listed price, without a demo call.

The cost of the wrong aisle

A store on GatherUp pays $99 a location for surveys and Google reviews and no product stars. A local business on Reviews.io buys product widgets it can’t use.

A store buying GatherUp gets an NPS question, a Google review request, and a listings sync for a business that has no storefront to list. Product pages, Shopping listings, and search ads stay starless.

A local business buying Reviews.io gets company reviews from $29, but the feedback step doesn’t exist, surveys wait until Grow at $299, and NPS until Plus at $499. The Google profile customers read is a Grow feature too.

An agency buying either finds only one of them built for the job. GatherUp sells a white-label version and per-location pricing; Reviews.io sells one brand one domain at a time.

For the messaging-heavy end of GatherUp’s aisle, my Podium vs Reviews.io comparison runs the same split with an inbox in Podium’s seat, and NiceJob vs Reviews.io runs it with a finished job as the trigger.

Pricing compared: per location vs per domain

GatherUp lists one self-serve price and a per-location ladder behind a demo. Reviews.io prices off a monthly invite slider, per domain. WiserReview prices per workspace by review requests.

GatherUp pricing

GatherUp pricing page in September 2026 showing Small Business at $99 a month billed annually, Multi Location at $60 per location, and an Agency plan on request

Plan Cost (annual / monthly) What’s included
Small Business, 1 location $99 / $124 a month, 14-day trial 300 SMS and 3,000 email credits a month, 100+ site monitoring, NPS and surveys, QR codes, API and Zapier, AI replies, widgets and badge, social sharing
Multi Location, 2-10 $60 / $75 per location, demo Same feature set, credits per location
Multi Location, 11 to 101+ $45 / $56 down to $25 / $31 per location, demo Bands at 11-16, 17-25, 26-40, 41-100, and 101+ locations
Agency Quote White-label reputation management for clients
Add-ons Listings Hub $40 a location; Review Defense on three unpriced plans 125 directories synced; fake-review flagging and disputes

The pricing page defaults to the annual view and says annual saves 20%, so the $99 and $60 on the cards are the committed prices. Monthly billing is $124 for one location and $75 per location for two to ten.

The per-location price falls with the band: $56 monthly at 11-16 locations, $44 at 17-25, $40 at 26-40, $36 at 41-100, and $31 at 101+, or 20% less on annual. Only the single-location plan starts without a demo.

Reviews.io pricing

Reviews.io pricing page with the monthly invite slider set to 1,000 showing Essentials $29, Start-Up $79, Grow $175, and Plus $500

Plan Cost (page default) What you get
Free $0 25 invites a month, product and company reviews, photo and video, basic widgets
Essentials $29/mo, up to 300 invites Automated collection, 15+ widgets
Start-Up $99/mo, up to 1,500 invites Google Seller Ratings, rich snippets, Google Shopping, review importing, Klaviyo, 100 SMS
Grow $299/mo, up to 5,000 invites Reputation Manager, Google Local, AI review summary, competitor analysis, surveys, contract buyout
Plus $499/mo, up to 10,000 invites AI replies, NPS, translation, customer success manager, shoppable UGC, Bazaarvoice syndication, API

The pricing plans page prices each tier off an invite slider, and the slider moves the numbers: at 1,000 invites a month, Start-Up read $79 and Grow $175 when I last set it.

Every top-level domain is its own subscription, annual takes 20% off, and the trial runs 14 days.

Shopify stores also see a separate in-app ladder: Free, Launch at $19 for 50 invites with Seller Ratings, and Launch Plus at $45 for 500.

WiserReview pricing

Plan Cost per workspace What’s included
Starter $9/mo 100 review requests, unlimited published reviews, 20 video reviews, Google Shopping stars, rich snippets, AI moderation and replies, no branding
Pro $19, $29, or $49/mo 1,000, 3,000, or 5,000 requests, 100 video reviews, Q&A, Klaviyo, WATI, Zapier, multi-store sync, auto-translation (credits)
Pro + AI $31, $41, or $61/mo Same request tiers plus AI review summary, smart topics, and product review insights

Billed per workspace, which means per domain, on a monthly review-request meter, month to month, with yearly billing taking 3 months off and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Every plan opens with a 7-day free trial.

The like-for-like check: a store sending 1,000 requests a month with Google Seller Ratings pays $99 for Reviews.io Start-Up at the page default and $19 here.

A three-location clinic sending 300 texts a location pays GatherUp $180 a month on annual billing for feedback, Google reviews, and replies, a job neither store tool sells.

Feedback first, or review first

GatherUp treats the review as the last step of a feedback loop. Reviews.io and WiserReview treat the review as the product, and that changes what each dollar buys.

On GatherUp, the first message asks for a rating or an NPS score, the answer feeds reporting and AI insights, and the review request follows.

Its site names review gating as a compliance risk, so the survey informs the business rather than screening who gets asked.

The reviews land on Google and 100+ sites, where a local customer checks before booking, and a widget can show them on the business’s own site.

On Reviews.io, the first message asks for the review, tied to the order and the SKU, with photos and video, and the result feeds product pages, rich snippets, Shopping, and Seller Ratings.

Surveys and NPS arrive later, at $299 and $499.

On WiserReview, the same product-page job runs at $19 for 1,000 requests, with both Google star types on every plan and an AI reply for Google Business reviews if you want it, but no survey layer at all.

For the ecommerce-versus-marketplace version of the same split, see Reviews.io vs Trustpilot.

Who should pick which platform?

The first question your tool sends decides it before any feature list does.

GatherUp is right for

  1. Local businesses that want feedback before reviews. Clinics, firms, home services, and restaurants running NPS and Google reviews per location.
  2. Agencies reselling reputation management. A white-label version and a per-location ladder that falls to $25 at 101+ locations.
  3. Multi-location brands that need listings and defense too. Listings Hub across 125 directories and Review Defense on top of the core plan.

Reviews.io is right for

  1. One brand selling online that wants reviews plus a Google layer. Product and company reviews, Seller Ratings, and rich snippets from $99 at 1,500 invites.
  2. Brands building UGC, not just ratings. Photo and video on every plan, galleries and shoppable UGC on Plus, TikTok Shop and Klaviyo integrations.
  3. Buyers who want a price without a call. The slider is on the page and the trial starts from signup.

WiserReview is right for

  1. Online stores that want the product-review job at $19. 1,000 requests, photo and video, both Google star types on every plan.
  2. Stores off Shopify. WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, and headless builds get the same feature set.
  3. Stores that outgrew a free tier. Per-request pricing that stays at $19 to $49 through 5,000 requests a month.

Wrap up: ask first, or review first?

GatherUp and Reviews.io only overlap on the send. One asks a local customer how the visit went, then works the Google profile per location, from $99 a month.

The other asks an online buyer to review the product, then works the product page and Google’s shopping surfaces, per domain, from $29 a month, with WiserReview doing the product-page job at $19 for 1,000 requests.

Local business or agency: GatherUp, with its rivals one guide away. Online brand: Reviews.io for reviews plus UGC and a Google layer, WiserReview for the product reviews themselves.

And if you picked the wrong aisle, the reviews you collected come with you. My guide to migrate from Reviews.io covers the export-and-import path, and it works the same way for most tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about this topic

It depends on what your tool asks first. GatherUp is better for a local business or agency that wants a feedback or NPS question sent before the review request, with Google reviews, monitoring, and listings managed per location, from $99 a month billed annually. Reviews.io is better for an online brand collecting product and company reviews for its own pages, from $29 a month per domain. A store that only needs product reviews can use WiserReview at $19 for 1,000 requests.
GatherUp's pricing page lists Small Business at $99 a month billed annually or $124 monthly for one location, with a 14-day trial. Multi Location is priced per location and sold through a demo: $60 annual or $75 monthly per location for 2-10 locations, falling by band to $25 annual or $31 monthly at 101+ locations. Agency white-label pricing is by quote. Listings Hub adds $40 per location a month, and Review Defense is sold on three unpriced plans.
No. GatherUp collects feedback, NPS, and reviews for Google and 100+ review sites, priced per location for local businesses and agencies. It has no product-level reviews, no product-page review widgets, no rich snippets, no Google Shopping ratings, and no Google Seller Ratings. Stores wanting product reviews use Reviews.io from $29 or WiserReview from $9 per workspace.
Partly. Reviews.io sells surveys on its Grow plan at $299 a month and NPS on Plus at $499, and its Google Business Profile integration also starts on Grow. It has no listings sync and no white-label mode for agencies. GatherUp includes NPS and surveys on every plan and sells a white-label version to agencies by quote.
For one location or one domain, yes at the entry point: Reviews.io starts at $29 a month per domain for 300 invites, and GatherUp starts at $99 a month billed annually for one location. The comparison flips at the features each buyer needs, since Reviews.io's surveys and NPS cost $299 and $499, while GatherUp includes them. They aren't the same product: GatherUp runs a local business's feedback loop, and Reviews.io collects an online brand's reviews.
For an online store, WiserReview's Pro plan covers 1,000 review requests a month for $19 per workspace, with photo and video, rich snippets, Google Shopping stars, and Google Seller Ratings on every plan, and a $9 Starter plan for 100 requests. Reviews.io's cheapest route to Seller Ratings is Launch at $19 in the Shopify app or Start-Up at $99 on its website. GatherUp doesn't offer product stars.
