Podium vs Reviews.io: an inbox or a product page? (2026)
Podium sells local businesses a text-and-call inbox with an AI Employee and review requests, listed at $399 and $599 through sales. Reviews.io sells online brands product and company reviews from $29 per domain on an invite slider. Where the sale happens decides it, plus the $19 product-page option.

Podium and Reviews.io both show up when you search for review software, and both collect reviews by text. That’s about where the resemblance ends.
Podium is a lead-conversion platform for local businesses: a shared inbox for texts, calls, and web chat, an AI Employee that answers and books, payments, and review requests riding along.
Reviews.io is a product and company review platform for online brands.
The question that sorts them isn’t which has more features. It’s where your sale happens: in an inbox, or on a product page.
I run WiserReview, a product-review tool for online stores, so I compete with the product-page side of this and I’ll say so wherever it matters.
Every listed price below was read off the live pricing pages in August 2026.
Product-page reviews for $19 a month
1,000 review requests, photo and video, rich snippets, and both Google star types, per workspace. No inbox, no phones, no sales call.

What each one is for
Podium runs the conversations that turn into local sales, with reviews as one output. Reviews.io collects the reviews that turn into online sales. Where your sale happens is the tell.
Podium works the inbox
Podium’s 2026 homepage calls itself “The #1 converting AI Employee for local businesses.”
The product is an inbox that pulls texts, calls, web chat, and social messages together, an AI Employee that answers and books around the clock, payments, and text marketing.
Review requests go out by text after a visit and land on Google, Facebook, and other profiles. They’re one line in the feature list, next to phones and payments, priced inside a plan that starts at $399.
Reviews.io works the product page
Reviews.io invites your customers after a purchase, collects product and company reviews with photos and video, and shows them in on-site widgets, rich snippets, Google Shopping, and Google Seller Ratings.
The account holder is an online brand, the integrations are Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Klaviyo, and Gorgias, and the price is a slider you read yourself, from $29 per domain.
The inbox test
Ask where your revenue arrives. If a front desk answers texts and calls and books the appointment, your sale happens in an inbox, and Podium was built for that inbox.
If the customer adds to cart and checks out with nobody on the line, your sale happens on a product page, and Reviews.io or WiserReview is your aisle.
Podium overview: an AI Employee with reviews attached

Podium is a lead-conversion and communication platform for local businesses, aimed at auto dealerships, home services, aesthetics clinics, and retail. Its homepage says 60,000+ businesses trust it, while its pricing page says over 100,000, so I won’t print either count.
The 2026 pitch is the AI Employee: it responds to every lead, qualifies and books appointments at 10pm, re-engages past customers, and summarizes calls. Reviews sit under it as “automatically collect 5-star reviews via text.”
What it does well: the inbox. Texts, calls, web chat, and social land in one place, the AI answers when the desk is busy, payments run through the same thread, and review requests fire from the conversation you already had.
Where it stops: the product page. There are no product-level reviews, no photo or video review widgets tied to a SKU, no rich snippets, no Google Shopping ratings, and no Google Seller Ratings.
Every plan is Talk to Sales, and Podium notes HVAC businesses get separate pricing.
Ideal fit: a dealership, clinic, or service company that wants missed calls answered, leads booked, and Google reviews collected from one inbox, at $399 to $599 a month plus fees.

Reviews.io overview: reviews for a brand’s own pages

Reviews.io is a product and company review platform with UGC galleries and surveys, part of the clearer.io family alongside its Influence loyalty product. Its pricing page claims 10,000+ customers.
It holds a 4.7 from 701 reviews on the Shopify listing, shows a 4.8 G2 badge on its homepage, and integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Shopware, Klaviyo, Gorgias, and TikTok Shop.
What it does well: the ecommerce review stack. Review Booster mails past customers, Flows time invites by product or country, video-first campaigns collect video, and Google Seller Ratings, rich snippets, and Google Shopping ratings all ship from the Start-Up plan.
Where it stops: the inbox. There’s no shared messaging inbox, no phone system, no payments, and no AI answering leads. Google Business Profile reviews and the Reputation Manager start on Grow at $175 or more.
Ideal fit: an ecommerce or online-first brand that wants verified reviews on its own pages plus a Google ads and Shopping layer, at a price it can read on a slider.

Reviews.io's product-page job at $19 for 1,000
Verified product reviews against real orders, photo and video, rich snippets, and Google Shopping stars. Per workspace, month to month.
Start Free Trial →WiserReview overview: the product-page side at store prices

WiserReview is my product, so weigh this section accordingly. It does one job: verified product reviews on an online store, collected against real orders and shown where the checkout happens.
What it does: collects reviews by email, SMS, WhatsApp, and QR code, with each send counting as one review request, then displays them in 18 widget types with photo and video on every plan.
Google Shopping product stars, rich snippets, and Google seller ratings sync from the $9 Starter plan, and AI moderation and AI replies run on every plan. Pro + AI adds review summaries, smart topics, and product review insights.

It runs on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow, Magento, PrestaShop, and headless builds. Starter is $9 for 100 review requests a month, Pro is $19 for 1,000, and Pro + AI starts at $31, each per workspace.
The spec-by-spec version lives on WiserReview vs. Podium.
Where it stops: the inbox. No shared messaging inbox, no phones, no payments, no AI Employee, and no Google Business Profile campaigns. A local business that sells by text should read Podium’s section, not this one.
Ideal fit: online stores on any platform that want the product-review job done at a listed price, without a demo call.
The cost of the wrong aisle
A store on Podium pays $399 for an inbox it won’t staff and gets no product stars. A local business on Reviews.io gets reviews it can’t use and no inbox.
A store buying Podium gets a text inbox, an AI that answers questions nobody sends, and Google profile reviews for a business shoppers never visit. Product pages, Shopping listings, and search ads stay starless, at $399 a month before fees.
A local business buying Reviews.io gets company reviews from $29, but the Google profile customers read needs Grow at $175, and no text, call, or booking flows through it. The front desk still works from a phone and a notepad.
A business that does both, a clinic with a supplement shop or a dealership with a parts store, runs two tools: Podium or a rival on the inbox side, Reviews.io or WiserReview on the product-page side.
For the inbox side beyond Podium, my Birdeye vs Trustpilot comparison covers the other local platform people weigh against a review marketplace.
Pricing compared: a sales-led platform vs an invite slider
Podium lists $399 and $599 plans that still route through sales, plus per-location fees. Reviews.io prices off a monthly invite slider, per domain. WiserReview prices per workspace by review requests.
Podium pricing

| Plan | Cost | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Core | $399/mo, Talk to Sales | Consolidated lead inbox, review management with AI responses, basic automations and reporting, mobile app, 200+ integrations, phones add-on, dedicated CSM, 1-on-1 onboarding |
| Pro | $599/mo, Talk to Sales | Everything in Core plus AI Concierge, AI Reputation Specialist, call summaries, lead routing, advanced automations, surveys, text marketing, high-volume messaging, lower payment fees |
| Signature | Custom pricing | Everything in Pro plus AI Scheduler, AI Salesperson, AI Marketer, advanced multi-location management, hardware and bulk-message discounts, custom billing |
| AI Employee | Add-on, unpriced | Sells, schedules, and answers around the clock, added to any plan |
The pricing page prints the $399 and $599 figures but puts Talk to Sales under all three plans, and its FAQ says the monthly cost “may vary” with industry, integrations, volume, and carrier fees.
The fees it does list: a $5 monthly 10DLC charge per US location, $5 a month for each extra phone number, and a $500 network optimization fee per location for Podium Phones.
Payments run at 2.9% plus $0.30, and bulk actions and AI review responses cost $15 a month each on Core.
Usage caps sit underneath: 4,000 automation segments per location per month, 300 Voice AI minutes, and 1,500 AI messaging segments before overages. The page states no contract term; my Podium pricing guide reports annual contracts, so ask before you sign.
Reviews.io pricing

|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 25 invites a month, product and company reviews, photo and video, basic widgets |
| Essentials | $29/mo | Up to 300 invites, automated collection, 15+ widgets |
| Start-Up | $79 at 1,000 invites, $99 at 1,500 | Google Seller Ratings, rich snippets, Google Shopping, review importing, Klaviyo, 100 SMS |
| Grow | $175 at 1,000 invites, $299 at 5,000 | Reputation Manager, Google Local, Branches, AI review summary, competitor analysis, contract buyout |
| Plus | $499 to $500/mo, up to 10,000 invites | AI replies, translation, customer success manager, shoppable UGC, Bazaarvoice syndication, API |
The pricing plans page prices each tier off the invite slider, every top-level domain is its own subscription, annual billing takes 20% off, and the trial runs 14 days.
Shopify stores also see a separate in-app ladder: Free, Launch at $19 for 50 invites with Seller Ratings, and Launch Plus at $45 for 500.
WiserReview pricing
| Plan | Cost per workspace | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $9/mo | 100 review requests, unlimited published reviews, 20 video reviews, Google Shopping stars, rich snippets, AI moderation and replies, no branding |
| Pro | $19, $29, or $49/mo | 1,000, 3,000, or 5,000 requests, 100 video reviews, Q&A, Klaviyo, WATI, Zapier, multi-store sync, auto-translation (credits) |
| Pro + AI | $31, $41, or $61/mo | Same request tiers plus AI review summary, smart topics, and product review insights |
Billed per workspace, which means per domain, on a monthly review-request meter, month to month, with yearly billing taking 3 months off and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Every plan opens with a 7-day free trial.
The like-for-like check: a store sending 1,000 requests a month with Google Seller Ratings pays $79 at Reviews.io and $19 here.
A local business on Podium Core pays $399 plus the $5 10DLC fee before any extra numbers, phones, or AI Employee, for an inbox and a booking engine neither review tool sells.
Reviews inside a platform, or reviews as the product
Podium treats reviews as one job the inbox does. Reviews.io and WiserReview treat reviews as the whole product, which changes what you get for the review dollar.
On Podium, a review request is a text sent from a conversation, an AI-drafted reply on Core, and an AI Reputation Specialist on Pro that handles responses at scale.
The reviews land on Google and Facebook, where a local customer checks before calling. There’s no widget that puts a product’s stars on a product page, because Podium has no product pages to serve.
On Reviews.io, the review is the product: collected against a purchase, tagged to a SKU, shown with photos and video on your site, and syndicated to Google’s ad, organic, and Shopping surfaces. Nothing in it answers a phone.
On WiserReview, the same product-page job runs at $19 for 1,000 requests, with both Google star types on every plan and an AI reply for Google Business reviews if you want it, but still no inbox.
For the ecommerce-versus-marketplace version of the same split, see Reviews.io vs Trustpilot.
Who should pick which platform?
Where the sale happens decides before the features do: inbox sales point to Podium, product-page sales point to a review tool.
Podium is right for
- Local businesses that sell by text and phone. Dealerships, clinics, home services, and shops where a front desk books the job.
- Teams that want an AI Employee on the line. After-hours answering, qualifying, booking, and call summaries, added to any plan.
- Owners who want reviews, payments, and messaging under one contract. One inbox, one bill, one vendor, from $399.
Reviews.io is right for
- One brand selling online that wants reviews plus a Google layer. Product and company reviews, Seller Ratings, and rich snippets from $79 at 1,000 invites.
- Brands building UGC, not just ratings. Photo and video on every plan, galleries and shoppable UGC on Plus, TikTok Shop and Klaviyo integrations.
- Buyers who want a price without a call. The slider is on the page and the trial starts from signup.
WiserReview is right for
- Online stores that want the product-review job at $19. 1,000 requests, photo and video, both Google star types on every plan.
- Stores off Shopify. WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, and headless builds get the same feature set.
- Stores that outgrew a free tier. Per-request pricing that stays at $19 to $49 through 5,000 requests a month.
Stars on the page where the sale happens
Product-page reviews, rich snippets, and Google Shopping stars from $19 a month per workspace. 7-day free trial, 14-day money-back guarantee.
Start Free Trial →Wrap up: an inbox or a product page?
Podium and Reviews.io only overlap on the word “reviews.” One sells local businesses an inbox with an AI Employee, payments, and review requests, at $399 and $599 through a sales call.
The other sells online brands their own product and company reviews at a price on a slider, from $29 a month per domain, with WiserReview doing the product-page job at $19 for 1,000 requests.
Selling from an inbox: Podium, with its rivals one guide away. Selling from a product page: Reviews.io for reviews plus UGC and a Google layer, WiserReview for the product reviews themselves.
And if you picked the wrong aisle, the reviews you collected come with you. My guide to migrate from Reviews.io covers the export-and-import path, and it works the same way for most tools.
