Okendo vs Yotpo comparison cover

Okendo and Yotpo are the two premium suites Shopify DTC brands shortlist, and the comparison changed underneath both of them.

Yotpo shut down its Email and SMS products on December 31, 2025, and Okendo grew from a reviews app into a five-product platform.

I run WiserReview, so I compete with both, and I’ll be upfront about that. I’ve set both suites up on live stores, and this comparison runs on numbers verified in August 2026, not the ladders from two years ago.

Here’s who wins, and for exactly which store.

Quick verdict: Okendo or Yotpo?

Okendo wins for Shopify-committed DTC brands that want reviews, loyalty, and referrals unified. Yotpo wins for multi-platform brands. WiserReview wins under $500K or off Shopify.

Pick Okendo if you’re a Shopify brand doing $500K to $50M that wants the most polished visual reviews plus loyalty on one customer profile, and can budget $119 to $299 for the tiers where it gets real.

Pick Yotpo if you run stores beyond Shopify, want the widest syndication to Google, Meta, and TikTok, or need the most mature loyalty rules, budgeting $169+ for photo reviews or about $368 with Loyalty.

Pick WiserReview if both suites feel like enterprise overhead. Photo, video, Google stars, and AI on every plan, $9 to $31 by review requests, on ten platforms.

What changed for Okendo and Yotpo?

Most comparisons of these two describe products from 2023. Both moved.

Yotpo shut down Email and SMS

In an August 2025 open letter, Yotpo’s CEO announced the sunset of its Email and SMS products to refocus on Reviews and Loyalty. The shutdown completed December 31, 2025, with Attentive and Omnisend as official migration partners.

That deletes the old argument for Yotpo in this matchup. “Replace Klaviyo and Attentive with one vendor” is no longer on the table; Yotpo now sells Reviews and Loyalty, the same two jobs Okendo covers.

Okendo became a five-product suite

Okendo now bundles Reviews, Loyalty, Referrals, Quizzes, and Surveys on one Shopify-native platform with unified customer profiles. The suite question flipped: Okendo is no longer just the polished reviews specialist.

The cost of that depth is the gates. AI summaries start at Growth ($119), and the Klaviyo integration most Shopify brands consider table stakes sits on Power at $299.

What it means for this comparison

The two suites converged on the same shape: reviews plus loyalty, with email running through Klaviyo either way. What still separates them is platform reach, syndication, and where each one puts the paywall.

Okendo overview: the Shopify-native suite

Okendo homepage

Okendo launched in 2018 and runs exclusively on Shopify, including Hydrogen headless builds. 18,000+ brands use it, including SKIMS, Rhode, and Oh Polly, and it holds a 4.9 from 1,314 reviews on the Shopify App Store.

What it does well: visual polish and platform depth. Reviews with customer attributes (fit, size, skin type) display beautifully with minimal developer work.

Widgets load fast without hurting Core Web Vitals, and photo and video collection runs on every plan, free tier included.

Loyalty, referrals, quizzes, and surveys share one customer profile with reviews, which is the suite’s quiet superpower.

Where it stops: the platform wall and the gates. Off Shopify it isn’t an option at all. AI summaries need $119, Klaviyo needs $299, and retail syndication rides a Bazaarvoice partnership on the $499 tier.

It also won’t notify you when a negative review lands; you check the dashboard or build the alert yourself. My Okendo pricing breakdown covers every gate.

Ideal fit: Shopify DTC brands in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle doing $500K+.

Yotpo overview: the multi-platform suite

Yotpo homepage

Yotpo launched in 2011 and remains the biggest reviews platform in DTC, claiming 400 million+ reviews collected and 25,000+ loyalty programs, with customers like Brooklinen, Steve Madden, Princess Polly, and Pandora.

It holds a 4.3 on G2 from about 262 reviews and a 4.7 on the Shopify App Store.

What it does well: reach. It runs on Shopify, BigCommerce, and Magento, syndicates reviews to Google, Meta, and TikTok, and its loyalty engine, built on the 2019 Swell acquisition, still has the deepest rules and VIP logic in the category.

Where it stops: the meter and the gates. Photo and video reviews need Pro at $169+, loyalty adds $199 to $599, tiers climb with order volume, and multiple testers have flagged widget script weight against page speed.

My Yotpo pricing breakdown covers the module math.

Ideal fit: mid-market brands on multiple platforms, or Shopify brands that want the most mature loyalty rules.

WiserReview overview: the no-meter option

WiserReview homepage, a product review tool that works across Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and Ecwid

WiserReview is my product, so judge this section accordingly. It exists for the stores this comparison prices out: under $500K, off Shopify, or unwilling to pay suite money for the review layer.

What it does: collects reviews by email, SMS, WhatsApp, and QR code, and displays them in 18+ widgets with photo and video on every plan.

Rich snippets and Google seller ratings sync from $9, and AI moderation runs before anything publishes.

WiserReview review management dashboard

It runs on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow, Magento, PrestaShop, and headless builds, billed by review requests: $9 for 1,000 a month, $19 for 3,000, $31 for 5,000 with the full AI suite.

Where it stops: no loyalty program beyond a $6 referral add-on, no quizzes or surveys, and no free plan, just a 7-day trial. If unified reviews-plus-loyalty is the goal, Okendo’s suite does it and WiserReview doesn’t.

Ideal fit: any-platform stores that want the whole review feature set at software prices.

Loyalty: the head-to-head that decides it

Okendo loyalty program interface

Most people running this comparison in 2026 are choosing a loyalty home, so here’s the honest split.

Okendo Loyalty lives on the same platform as reviews. One customer profile holds review history, points, VIP tier, and referral activity, and the bundle pricing discounts the pair. For a connected reviews-and-loyalty strategy, this architecture wins.

Yotpo loyalty program interface

Yotpo Loyalty is the more mature engine. Built on the 2019 Swell acquisition, it carries deeper earning rules, rolling VIP qualification, and 20+ triggers, at $199 to $599 as a separate module beside Reviews.

WiserReview doesn’t compete here beyond a $6 referral add-on. Pair it with a dedicated loyalty tool if points come later.

Winner: Okendo for unified architecture, Yotpo for rule depth. If loyalty is the whole reason you’re here, my Loox vs Okendo breakdown covers the visual-first angle too.

Pricing compared: where each suite puts the paywall

Both suites meter by order volume. The difference is which features sit behind which tier. Verified in August 2026.

Okendo pricing

Plan Cost What it adds
Free $0/mo Up to 50 orders, review emails, smart forms, Google SEO snippets
Essential $19/mo Up to 200 orders; no AI summaries, Google Shopping stars, or Klaviyo
Growth $119/mo AI review summaries and keywords, TikTok Shop, Q&A widget
Power $299/mo Klaviyo integration, email and SMS integrations, multi-store syndication
Advanced $499/mo API access, retail syndication via Bazaarvoice, dedicated CSM
Enterprise Custom High volume, custom contracts

Every paid plan carries a 14-day trial, tiers cap by monthly order volume, and exceeding a cap bills overage credits at a higher per-credit rate.

The gate that surprises most brands: Klaviyo sync needs Power at $299, so the realistic budget for a store that takes reviews seriously lands between $119 and $299.

Yotpo pricing

Plan Cost What you get
Free $0 About 50 orders/month, basic review collection and widgets
Starter (Reviews) $15 to $129/mo Scales with order volume, core widgets, rich snippets
Pro (Reviews) $169 to $379/mo Photo and video UGC, customization, syndication
Loyalty add-on $199 to $599/mo Points, referrals, VIP tiers, billed separately

The meter: tiers bump with order volume, overage bills at $0.20 per order, and Reviews plus Loyalty realistically starts around $368 a month.

WiserReview pricing

Plan Cost What’s included
Starter $9/mo 1,000 review requests, photo and video, widgets, rich snippets, seller ratings
Pro $19/mo 3,000 requests, unlimited reviews, more video, team seats
Pro + AI $31/mo 5,000 requests, AI replies, sentiment, summaries, translation

Billed by review requests sent with no overage fees, and yearly billing takes 3 months off. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

The worked example at about 1,000 orders a month: Okendo realistically runs $119 to $299 depending on the Klaviyo question, Yotpo runs $169+ for photo reviews, and WiserReview runs $19.

Same job, three paywalls in three different places.

Features beyond pricing

Review collection

Okendo review collection form

Okendo’s smart forms capture attributes like fit and skin type on every plan, which makes the reviews more useful than star counts.

Yotpo counters with in-mail forms and AI-timed sends. WiserReview collects by email, SMS, WhatsApp, and QR on every plan.

Winner: Okendo for review quality, WiserReview for channel coverage.

AI features

Okendo AI review summaries

Okendo’s AI summaries and trending keywords start at $119. Yotpo’s Smart Topics sentiment analysis sits on higher tiers. WiserReview’s $31 plan bundles moderation, replies, sentiment, summaries, and translation.

Winner: WiserReview on AI-per-dollar, Okendo on shopper-facing summaries.

Syndication

Okendo review syndication options

Okendo reaches Google and TikTok on lower tiers, with retail-site syndication through its Bazaarvoice partnership at $499+. Yotpo covers Google, Meta, and TikTok in its Reviews plans. WiserReview covers Google stars and rich snippets from $9.

Winner: Yotpo for included breadth, Okendo only if the Bazaarvoice retail network matters.

Platform support

Okendo is Shopify-only by design. Yotpo adds BigCommerce and Magento. WiserReview runs on ten platforms plus headless.

Winner: WiserReview, unless Shopify-only is a feature for you rather than a limit.

Who should pick which platform?

Platform commitment and budget decide it: Shopify-committed suites point to Okendo, multi-platform reach to Yotpo, and everything-included economics to WiserReview.

Okendo is right for

  1. Shopify DTC brands in visual categories. Fashion, beauty, and lifestyle stores get the attribute-rich reviews and the polish, like the SKIMS and Rhode profile it serves.
  2. Brands unifying reviews and loyalty. One customer profile across reviews, points, referrals, quizzes, and surveys.
  3. Stores keeping Klaviyo at the center. Okendo plus Klaviyo often beats Yotpo’s bundle for Shopify-first brands, once you’re on the $299 tier that connects them.

Yotpo is right for

  1. Multi-platform brands. Shopify plus BigCommerce or Magento under one review vendor.
  2. Brands that want the deepest loyalty rules. The Swell-built engine still leads on VIP logic and triggers.
  3. Syndication-first stores. Google, Meta, and TikTok feeds included without a partner network fee.

WiserReview is right for

  1. Stores under $500K. Both suites’ useful tiers start at $119 to $169; the whole WiserReview ladder tops out at $31.
  2. Non-Shopify stores. WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Magento, and headless builds, where Okendo can’t go.
  3. Brands avoiding order meters. Requests-based billing with no overage credits or volume bumps.

Wrap up: who wins?

For the brand this comparison is written for, a Shopify-committed DTC store past $500K, Okendo wins: unified reviews and loyalty, better review data, and faster widgets.

The Okendo-plus-Klaviyo pairing beats the old Yotpo bundle now that Yotpo’s email and SMS are gone. Switching between these tools later? My Okendo export guide covers moving your reviews out cleanly.

Yotpo wins the moment you leave Shopify, need Google-Meta-TikTok syndication included, or want the most mature loyalty rules.

WiserReview wins everywhere the suites price you out: under $500K, off Shopify, or when you want photo, video, Google stars, and AI at $9 instead of behind $119 to $299 gates.

Decide your platform commitment, then your loyalty plan, then match the paywall you can live with.
