Yotpo vs Vendasta comparison cover

Yotpo and Vendasta both show up when you search for review software, and they’re built for completely different buyers. Yotpo provides product reviews and loyalty tools for e-commerce stores. Vendasta sells a white-label platform to agencies that serve local businesses.

Confusing the two is expensive in both directions, and 2026 made each one harder to read from old comparisons.

Yotpo shut down its Email and SMS products, and Vendasta restructured around an AI Workforce and a $0-subscription offset model with wholesale spend minimums.

I run WiserReview, so I compete with the e-commerce review side of this, and I’ll be upfront about that.

The numbers below were verified against live pricing pages and both companies’ own materials in August 2026.

Quick verdict: Yotpo or Vendasta?

Answer one question first: Are you buying reviews for your own store, or reselling marketing services to clients? Store: Yotpo or WiserReview. Agency: Vendasta or its rivals. They almost never compete for the same buyer.

Pick Vendasta if you’re an agency, MSP, or franchisor packaging reputation, listings, and AI services for local-business clients, and you can clear a $99-$999 monthly wholesale minimum.

Pick Yotpo if you run a mid-market e-commerce store and want product reviews, visual UGC, and loyalty from one vendor, budgeting $169+ for photo reviews.

Pick WiserReview if you want product reviews, Google stars, and AI moderation for your own store, starting at $9 a month across 10 platforms.

Why are these two compared at all

The word “reviews” does a lot of damage here because it means something different for each product.

Yotpo’s reviews are product reviews

Yotpo collects reviews from people who bought from your store and displays them on your product pages, in Google Shopping, and in ads. The buyer is the store, the subject is the product, and the goal is conversion.

The 2026 version is narrower than the one most comparisons describe: in an August 2025 open letter, Yotpo’s CEO announced the shutdown of its Email and SMS products, to be completed by December 31, 2025, refocusing the company on Reviews and Loyalty.

Vendasta’s reviews are local reputation

Vendasta’s review tools monitor and grow Google, Facebook, and directory reviews for local businesses like dentists, contractors, and restaurants, and they’re sold to those businesses by agencies running Vendasta’s white-label platform.

Its homepage now leads with an AI Workforce for local businesses: an AI Receptionist, AI Reputation Specialist, and AI Sales Assistant that agencies deploy for every client they serve.

The test that settles it

Ask who logs in. If it’s your e-commerce team collecting product reviews from buyers, you’re in Yotpo and WiserReview territory. If it’s an agency managing reputation for a roster of local clients, you’re in Vendasta territory.

Yotpo overview: the e-commerce reviews suite

Yotpo homepage

Yotpo launched in 2011 and remains the biggest reviews platform in DTC e-commerce, claiming 400 million+ reviews collected and 25,000+ loyalty programs, with customers like Brooklinen, Steve Madden, and Princess Polly.

It holds a 4.3 on G2 from about 262 reviews and a 4.7 on the Shopify App Store.

What it does well: the product-review pairing. Best-in-category UGC widgets, photo and video collection, Google Seller Ratings, and the Swell-built loyalty engine on one customer record, across Shopify, BigCommerce, and Magento.

Where it stops: the meter and the gates. Photo and video sit on Pro at $169+, loyalty adds $199 to $599 on separate billing, and there’s no white-label mode, client portal, or agency reseller program worth the name.

My Yotpo pricing breakdown covers the module math.

Ideal fit: mid-market e-commerce brands buying reviews and loyalty for their own store.

Vendasta overview: the agency operating system

Vendasta homepage

Vendasta is a Saskatoon-built platform that agencies, MSPs, and franchisors use to sell digital services to local businesses: a Partner Center with CRM and sales pipeline, a wholesale marketplace of resellable products, white-label client portals, and outsourced fulfillment.

The 2026 pitch centers on its AI Workforce: an AI Receptionist that answers calls and books appointments, an AI Reputation Specialist that manages client reviews, and an AI Sales Assistant, deployed under the agency’s own brand for every client.

Vendasta pricing page

Pricing runs on an offset model: $0 subscription tiers carrying monthly wholesale minimums of $99, $499, or $999, where hitting the minimum in product spend makes the platform fee disappear.

Onboarding adds $500 to $2,500 per tier, and agencies actively reselling typically land around $1,500 to $2,000 a month, all-in, once seats and client products stack up.

Where it stops: the buyer line. It’s an agency tool through and through: no e-commerce product-review collection, no product UGC widgets, no Google Shopping or Seller Ratings syndication, and real value only arrives once you’re reselling to a client roster.

Ideal fit: agencies and channel partners packaging local marketing, reputation, and AI services at margin.

WiserReview overview: the store’s direct answer

WiserReview homepage, a product review tool that works across Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and Ecwid

WiserReview is my product, so judge this section accordingly. For the buyer, this comparison is usually: a store that wants product reviews working today, without a subscription fee or a reseller platform.

What it does: collects reviews by email, SMS, WhatsApp, and QR code against your order data, and displays them in 18+ widgets with photo and video on every plan.

Rich snippets, Google Shopping product stars, and Google seller ratings sync from $9, and AI moderation, sentiment, and auto-translation run on every tier.

WiserReview review management dashboard

It runs on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow, Magento, PrestaShop, and headless builds: $9 for 1,000 requests per month, $19 for 3,000, and $31 for 5,000, with the full AI suite. Spec-by-spec details live on WiserReview vs. Vendasta.

Where it stops: no white-label agency mode, no local listings management, no loyalty beyond a $6 referral add-on, and no free plan, just a 7-day trial. Half of this comparison stays with Vendasta and its rivals.

Ideal fit: e-commerce stores on any platform that want the reviews job done from $9.

The cost of picking the wrong aisle

This is the mistake the search results don’t warn you about, in either direction.

A store buying Vendasta signs up for wholesale minimums, onboarding fees, and a reseller console, and still has no product-review widget on its product pages. The tool assumes you have clients, and you don’t.

An agency buying Yotpo gets one store’s review stack with no client portal, no white-label mode, and per-store suite pricing that multiplies across every account it manages.

The clean splits: stores get product reviews from $9 with WiserReview or from $15 with Yotpo. Agencies get the reseller platform from Vendasta at real minimums, and the field of its rivals is mapped in my alternatives guide.

For agencies whose clients are local service businesses rather than stores, the closer matchups are tools like Grade.us and Podium, covered in my Grade.us alternatives roundup.

Pricing compared: order meters, spend minimums, and requests

Yotpo meters orders across modules. Vendasta meters wholesale spend against minimums. WiserReview meters review requests. Verified in August 2026.

Yotpo pricing

Plan Cost What you get
Free $0 About 50 orders/month, basic review collection and widgets
Starter (Reviews) $15 to $129/mo Scales with order volume, core widgets, rich snippets
Pro (Reviews) $169 to $379/mo Photo and video UGC, customization, syndication
Loyalty add-on $199 to $599/mo Points, referrals, VIP tiers, billed separately

The meter: tiers climb with order volume; overage bills are $0.20 per order; and Reviews plus Loyalty realistically starts around $368 a month.

Vendasta pricing

Plan Cost What’s included
Starter $0 + $99/mo minimum spend Partner Center, CRM, unlimited client accounts, marketplace access
Professional $0 + $499/mo minimum spend White-label client portal, conversation intelligence, better wholesale pricing
Premium $0 + $999/mo minimum spend Volume wholesale pricing, invoiced billing, priority support
Enterprise Custom Volume-based tiers, custom activation

The subscription reads $0 because the platform fee offsets against qualifying wholesale purchases: hit the monthly minimum in product spend and the fee disappears; miss it, and you’re billed up to the minimum anyway.

Onboarding runs $500 to $2,500 by tier; monthly Professional and Premium need 30 days’ written notice to cancel, and agencies actively reselling typically land around $1,500 to $2,000 a month all-in.

WiserReview pricing

Plan Cost What’s included
Starter $9/mo 1,000 review requests, photo and video, widgets, rich snippets, seller ratings
Pro $19/mo 3,000 requests, unlimited published reviews, more video, team seats
Pro + AI $31/mo 5,000 requests, AI replies, sentiment, summaries, translation

Billed by review requests sent; month-to-month with no contract; yearly billing takes 3 months off. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

The like-for-like check only works inside each aisle: for a store, the photo-and-stars job costs $169+ at Yotpo and $9 here. For an agency, Vendasta’s minimums buy wholesale margin no store tool offers.

Who should pick which platform?

The buyer decides before the features do: stores choose between review tools, agencies choose between platforms.

Vendasta is right for

  1. Agencies and MSPs serving local businesses. White-label portals, wholesale margin, and outsourced fulfillment in one Partner Center.
  2. Teams selling the AI Workforce. AI receptionists and reputation agents are deployed per client under your brand.
  3. Franchisors and media companies at volume. The $499-$999 tier price is for rosters, not for single accounts.

Yotpo is right for

  1. Mid-market stores want reviews plus loyalty. The specialist pairing on one customer record.
  2. Visual UGC strategies. The strongest photo and video display in e-commerce.
  3. Google Ads spenders. Seller Ratings and Shopping stars from the same suite.

WiserReview is right for

  1. Stores that want the reviews job at $9. Photo, video, and both Google star types on every plan.
  2. Multi-platform and non-Shopify builds. Ten platforms and headless, month-to-month.
  3. Anyone priced out of both aisles. No minimums, no onboarding fees, no suite meter.

Skip both bills for the reviews job

Wrap up: store tool or agency platform?

Yotpo and Vendasta only look like rivals from the search bar. One sells product reviews and loyalty to stores at $15 to $368 a month.

The other sells an agency operating system at $99 to $999 monthly minimums plus onboarding, and its reviews are your clients’ Google reviews, not your products’.

Buying for your own store: Yotpo for the suite, WiserReview from $9 for the reviews themselves. Building an agency on local clients: Vendasta, with its rivals one guide away.

And if you landed here mid-confusion, that’s the answer worth keeping: pick the aisle first, then the tool.
