Set Up Customer Referrals in BigCommerce

Turn your customers into brand advocates with WiserReview’s BigCommerce referral program. Reward existing customers for referring friends and automatically offer new customers discounts when they shop through referral links.

How Referrals Work

1. A customer opens your referral widget and receives a unique referral link.
2. The customer shares the link with friends.
3. A friend clicks the referral link and visits your BigCommerce store.
4. WiserReview validates the referral code and applies the referral discount.
5. The friend completes a purchase.
6. WiserReview tracks the successful referral and rewards the original customer.

No manual coupon sharing or referral tracking is required.

Enable Referrals in WiserReview

1. Log in to your WiserReview account.
2. Navigate to Referrals.
3. Enable the referral program.
4. Configure:
   • Friend reward (discount amount or percentage)
   • Referrer reward (cash, credits, coupons, etc.)
   • Referral conditions
5. Save your settings.

Your referral campaign is now ready to connect with BigCommerce.

Install Referral Widgets on BigCommerce

On-Site Referral Widget

The On-Site Referral Widget displays across your store and allows visitors to access their referral link anytime.

Enable Widget

1. Go to WiserReview → Referrals.
2. Open Referral Widgets.
3. Enable On-Site Referral Widget.
4. Publish changes.

The widget will appear throughout your BigCommerce storefront.

Post-Purchase Referral Widget

The Post-Purchase Referral Widget appears after a successful order and encourages customers to refer friends immediately.

Enable Widget

1. Open Referral Widgets.
2. Enable Post-Purchase Referral Widget.
3. Save changes.

Customers will see their referral link immediately after checkout.

Reward Attribution

After an order is successfully completed:

1. BigCommerce confirms the order status.
2. Order details are synced with WiserReview.
3. WiserReview verifies referral eligibility.
4. The referrer receives their reward.
5. Referral analytics are updated in the dashboard.

Invalid, expired, or ineligible referral codes are automatically ignored.
